Pleased to Eat You (1950) is a classic Noveltoons cartoon from Famous Studios, directed by Isadore Sparber and Myron Waldman. A radio ad convinces a jungle lion that moving into the Bronx’s “Happy Zoo” means three square meals a day — but when he gets there, all he’s served are round vitamin pills instead of the steak dinners he was promised. Furious and starving, the lion breaks out of his cage and goes on a wild chase through the city looking for a real meal.

With a lion voiced in the style of the era’s famous comic personalities, this is a fun, energetic slice of early 1950s theatrical animation from Famous Studios.
