For fall 2001 Nanette Lepore delivered a playful, distinctly feminine collection rooted in Eighties-inspired references, echoing the youthful irreverence of Betsey Johnson’s early aesthetic. The result felt like a nostalgic nod to schoolgirl codes reworked through a more expressive, fashion-forward lens.

The lineup featured strapless plaid dresses accented with bows, floral corset tops, flounced skirts, and high-waisted miniskirts. Pattern mixing played a central role, with bold combinations used to heighten the sense of contrast and visual energy throughout the looks.
