Former Prime Minister Liz Truss faces a series of tough questions as she attends the UK’s debut CPAC conference, where she describes the event as “very positive and energetic” and calls for action to “save Britain” and “save the West.” Speaking about the influence of what she describes as the “progressive blob,” Truss argues that Britain’s institutions have been captured by an entrenched establishment, outlining why she believes conservative politics must take a different direction.

However, the interview quickly turns confrontational as Truss is challenged over her own record in government. GB News presenters press the former Prime Minister on her past positions regarding gender ideology, her criticism of the Bank of England following the collapse of her premiership, and whether she bears responsibility for policies implemented under previous Conservative governments. At one stage, she is accused of “promoting the Boriswave” of mass immigration, while another exchange sees her told, “You’re sounding like a conspiracy theorist!” as the debate over accountability intensifies.
