The Entire History of Petra — How the Nabataeans Outsmarted Rome
The Nabataeans were desert traders who transformed one of the driest regions on Earth into a wealthy kingdom of cities, farms, caravan routes, and monuments carved directly into the rock.
They defeated armies sent by the successors of Alexander the Great, mastered the movement and storage of water, controlled some of the ancient world’s richest trade routes, and preserved their independence for generations as Rome absorbed the kingdoms around them. This is the complete story of Petra and the people who built it, from the first hidden cisterns in the desert to the archaeological discoveries still being made today.
This documentary draws on ancient writers including Diodorus Siculus, Strabo, Pliny the Elder, and Josephus, as well as the Petra Papyri, the Babatha archive, Nabataean inscriptions, archaeological research, and modern studies of Petra’s architecture and water systems. Where the evidence is uncertain or debated—including the purpose of the Treasury, Nabataean authority in Damascus, and the Roman annexation of 106 AD—the narration says so rather than choosing the most dramatic answer.
A few passages depicting ordinary life, including a caravan morning, work on the rock-cut monuments, the earthquake of 363 AD, and a Byzantine church service, are illustrative reconstructions based on documented historical and archaeological conditions. They are not accounts of specific recorded individuals.
Petra remains a living heritage landscape closely connected to the Bdoul Bedouin community, whose resettlement from the archaeological site during the twentieth century is also discussed in the film.

Agentic Coding in 2026: 8 Trends Reshaping Software Development
Developers now use AI in roughly 60% of their work. Ask how much they can fully delegate, hands off and no review, and the answer is 0 to 20%.
That gap is the whole story of agentic coding right now, and it runs through all eight predictions in Anthropic’s 2026 Agentic Coding Trends Report. This is a seven-minute walkthrough of the report: what changes in the software development lifecycle, what agents can now do, what it does to your economics, and the four priorities worth acting on this year.
Covered in this video:
• Why the engineer’s job moves from implementer to orchestrator
• Onboarding to an unfamiliar codebase collapsing from weeks to hours
• Single agents giving way to an orchestrator coordinating specialists in parallel
• The task horizon stretching from minutes to hours to days
• Agentic review, and why human oversight stops being a flat tax on every change
• Agentic coding reaching COBOL, Fortran, and roles outside engineering
• The 27% of AI-assisted work that would never have been done at all
• Software getting built by sales, marketing, legal and operations
• Dual-use security, and why the advantage goes to teams that build it in early

[Korean History: Baekje] The Skeleton King: Why This Korean Emperor Was Left to Rot for 17 Years
A king who murders his own brother, purges his family, and bathes in blood to save his crumbling empire… Is he a hero, or a traitor?
The throne is a chair painted in blood. In 420 AD, the mighty Baekje Empire was facing a total system collapse. A hostile takeover by a foreign warlord, a puppet teenage king, and a rotting domestic aristocracy had pushed the nation’s “Social OS” to the brink of ruin.
In this episode, we decode the brutal masterclass of Baekje’s 20th ruler, King Biyu. Watch as he executes a bloody C-level coup, severs his own familial ties (Jeong), and engineers the desperate ‘Naje Alliance’ to block the apocalyptic northern invasion of Goguryeo’s King Jangsu.
But every bloody crown demands a gruesome price. Who—or what—was the “Black Dragon” that emerged from the Han River to claim his life?
Based strictly on verified official records, we witness history not as a dusty chronicle, but as a high-stakes, cinematic game of power, strategy, and survival.
Subscribe to The Korea Code, and let’s decode the past together. ⚔️👑🌏
