Director Venky Atluri Exclusive Interview with M9 News about Lucky Baskhar | Journalist Nishant

Published

on

M9 News journalist Nishant sat down with Director Venky Atluri ahead of the release of his film Lucky Baskhar on the 31st of this month as a Diwali special.

Speaking about the film, he said, “Lucky Baskhar is about the scams that happened in the banking sector in the 1980s and 1990s. Back then, computers were seen more as better bookkeeping instruments. There were no online real-time transactions. It’s all about how a middle-class man duped the system and amassed wealth.”

When asked if films about stock market scams and banking scams are often seen as appealing more to A-class audiences, he responded:

“We often find banking scams in the business section of a newspaper, which makes them seem complex. But when the same story is narrated interestingly on the front page, people read it. My story is narrated like that. Basically, it’s an underdog story, and everyone who loves money will connect to it,” Venky explained.

He also addressed how he has been stereotyped for making similar genre films and the reason his earlier stories often shifted to London in the second half.

When asked about the cultural differences and other challenges of working with heroes from different languages, the director said, “It’s more or less the same across the South. I can say that because I’ve shot with both Tamil and Telugu heroes. But in Mumbai, the culture is different. They behave like, ‘I gave you money, so you work for me.’ I feel like saying, ‘I am a bloody creator, you better respect me.’ In the South, it’s more or less the same.”

Venky Atluri previously worked with Akhil Akkineni in Mr. Majnu.

“We made a calculation mistake in the second half. Nagarjuna garu also spoke to me about it later. I’m still in touch with Akhil. He does fight sequences better than any Telugu hero I know. It’s just a matter of time before he gets a big break, and then everything will change,” Venky said.

Europe Roundtable FMCG, Consumer Trends Report 2022: Rebound & Rebalance

Published

on

As experts in people-centric future thinking, we identified 10 consumer trends that will define 2022 consumer behavior, and we validated these with 15,000 consumers in 17 markets around the globe.

Our team will explore the key trends for FMCG, as identified in our Consumer Trends Report 2022: Rebound & Rebalance, and the implications for brands in this sector!

We invite all attendees, regardless of sector or industry, to join the discussion!

What’s on the agenda?

In our 2021 Report: Happiness Reset, Relationships, Engagement and Security were at the forefront of our minds as we battled through the COVID-19 pandemic. Deprived of physical connections, real-life stimulation and future certainty, we pursued happiness through trends including ‘Attentive Experiences’ and ‘Rebuilding Trust.’ Entering 2022, Achievement and Positive Emotions are becoming core drivers as we re-evaluate where we spend our time and energy in a world where uncertainty is the only given.
