But behind their on-screen personas sat criminal records, courtroom convictions, prison sentences, and violent incidents that shattered carefully constructed public images.

Robert Blake, who played detective Baretta, stood trial for his wife’s murder. Danny Masterson, Hyde from That ’70s Show, was convicted of rape and sentenced to thirty years to life. Michael Jace, an officer on The Shield, murdered his wife in front of their children. Charlie Sheen, the highest-paid television actor of his era, faced felony menacing charges for holding a knife to his wife’s throat. Dustin Diamond from Saved by the Bell went to prison for stabbing a man. Kiefer Sutherland completed two separate DUI sentences. Jussie Smollett fabricated an entire hate crime and was convicted by jury. Lori Loughlin, Aunt Becky from Full House, served federal prison time for college admissions fraud.

The list extends from the 1980s through 2026—fifteen different actors, fifteen different crimes, fifteen different courtroom outcomes ranging from acquittals to thirty-year sentences.
