Europe to be FLOODED with migrants as EU plots ‘CHILLING’ assault on democracy after Hungary VICTORY
Hungary’s political earthquake is fuelling fears Europe could be flooded with a new migrant wave as news emerge of an EU plot to remove the cherished veto, in a ‘chilling’ anti-democratic development.
Nick Dunning is joined by Virag Gulyas to break down Peter Magyar’s shock rise to power, what it means for Viktor Orbán, and why Brussels appears so comfortable with Hungary’s new political direction.
Is Peter Magyar really “Orbán 2.0” on migration and national sovereignty, or is he the EU’s preferred vehicle for removing Hungary’s resistance to deeper European integration and mass migration?
Virag explains why many conservatives in Hungary are deeply concerned by calls for “qualified majority voting” in the EU, which could strip smaller nations of their veto power and open the door to major decisions, including migration policy and Ukraine accession, being imposed without national consent.
The discussion also examines Peter Magyar’s chaotic political rise, his shifting positions on migration, the judiciary, media freedom, and sovereignty, alongside serious questions about his personal conduct, past controversies, and whether his unpredictable style makes him a risk for Hungary.
They also explore why theories that Viktor Orbán somehow “planned” Magyar’s rise, or is plotting to replace Ursula von der Leyen as European Commission President are likely wide of the mark and why many inside Fidesz saw the defeat coming.
With Europe facing economic stagnation, migration pressures, and a battle over national sovereignty, Hungary may now be the front line in the fight over the future of the EU.
Is this democracy in action or a chilling move toward a more centralised, less democratic European Union?
