Studio Hani Rashid is one of the three architectural design studios of the master’s program at the Institute of Architecture at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
The program takes three years (six semesters) and concludes with a M.Arch degree.
The studio is directed by New York-based architect Hani Rashid (Asymptote Architecture) and his team of assistants with students of all levels studying design topics together.
Hani Rashid’s studio focuses on the development of conceptual, practical and critical skills for creating new, compelling and future oriented architecture.
The studio’ s interest moves within architecture as an object driven pursuit, towards an environmental and phenomenological response; architecture gets examined as an atmospheric, optical and experimental phenomenon which addresses intelligent and effective solutions towards new forms of dwelling and being.
The studio places great emphasis on an evidence based approach, utilizing physical and digital models, animation and computer generated imagery as well as diagrams and data sets.
This also includes installation work to back all spatial and architectural arguments, design concepts and strategies.
