No City In Canada Is Now Affordable For People Under 30

The courage to speak the truth is a virtue!
The main mystery facing young people in Canadian cities seems to be why exactly is it so financially difficult to exist in Canada? No matter what Canadian city you live in, from the big cities like Vancouver and Toronto to the smaller ones like Regina and Laval, you are probably going to end up in the hole every month. A recent report by a Canadian analysis group highlights affordability issues faced by young people living in twenty seven cities across the country.

A new report has shown that not a single city is easy to afford for people under the age of thirty in Canada. And this isn’t coming as so much of a shock to most of us because the Justin Trudeau Liberal government has been nothing but a total failure when it comes to being economically capable. Canadian cities, large and small, have become unaffordable to young people, and young Canadians face an average deficit of seven hundred and fifty dollars a month just to live in most of these cities.

The data is based on the Youthful Cities Real Affordability Index released on Thursday by the Royal Bank of Canada. Analysts studied twenty-seven Canadian cities using measures such as income, cost of living, rents, gender pay gaps, and the proportion of young people with full-time jobs to create the report. The report concludes that Canadian cities simply aren’t affordable for young people aged fifteen to twenty-nine. In addition, Patterson said opportunities to thrive “simply aren’t equally accessible to all young people.”

Royal LePage releases report that sheds light on millennials’ homeowning trends

Published

on

Toronto real estate company, Royal LePage has released a report today that has shed some light on millennials’ homeowning trends.

The data released by Royal LePage says 60 per cent of millennials who don’t currently own a home believe they will someday.

President and CEO of Royal LePage, Phil Soper says, “a large number of millennials tell us that they will actually move to and believe they have to move to own a home.” Soper believes the pandemic brought about this change while a large majority of people were working remotely.

The data shared by the real estate company shows that 72 per cent of Canadian millennials, which includes those between the ages of 26 and 41, would choose to live in their current city or town if the cost of living was not an issue. 46 per cent don’t feel as though their salaries will increase enough to buy a place where they currently reside.

CHCH News spoke with millennials in our area today and they say their biggest concern is affordability. They feel as though they just aren’t making enough.

Lou Piriano from the Realtors Association of Hamilton-Burlington says the issue needs to be solved by the government. “We’re having a municipal election in Hamilton. Look closely at what the candidates are saying about how they’re going to improve the speed of improving building permits and opening up land that is necessary.”

Another interesting data point shared today says 68 per cent of millennials across the country feel as though owning a home remains important.

OXOTIQ Ombosi Chronicle | An Afrofuturist Fashion Film by OZ PAAVALI

Deep within Africa Prime, Ombosi does not announce itself. It simply exists in the way that only ancient and inevitable things do. Bone structure carved by a civilization that rewrote what advanced looks like, draped in the saturated earth tones of OXOTIQ against a kingdom that time built on its own terms. Afrofuturism has always had an address. It is Ombosi.
