Ukrainian politician ‘thrown’ into a rubbish bin by angry mob – BBC News

The BBC’s David Stern explains why Ukrainian politician Vitaly Zhuravsky was thrown into a bin by a mob. He told Ukrainian TV he needs to recover “morally, physically and psychologically” after the incident. Footage on Tuesday showed Vitaly Zhuravsky, Economic Development party deputy and former adviser to ousted Ukrainian President Yanukovich, being held down by a mob outside parliament. Mr Zhuravsky authored a bill in January severely tightening restrictions on anti-government protesters.

Donald Trump has called on Iran to surrender, claiming it no longer has the ability to defend itself against US and Israeli attacks.
The US President said that Iranâs air force and navy were âgoneâ. He claimed: “Weâre destroying more of Iranâs missile and drone capability every single hour, knocking them out… Iran have no air force, they have no air defence. All of their airplanes are gone, their communications are gone…. Their navy is goneâ.
Trump also said he must âbe involved in the appointmentâ of Iranâs next leader and dismissed as âunacceptable” the idea of Ayatollah Ali Khameneiâs son, Mojtaba Khamenei, succeeding his father as the country’s Supreme Leader.
Meanwhile Israel has continued its assault on Lebanon. It has begun striking what it describes as Hezbollah infrastructure in the Dahiya neighbourhood, a densely populated commercial and residential area in the southern suburbs of Beirut.Â
The IDF had earlier issued forced evacuation orders for the whole population of Beirutâs southern suburbs â home to 500,000 people â leading to widespread panic and huge queues of traffic as people tried to flee.
