Wayne Meets Steve Bracknall: Fame, Modern Football & The Snip | The Wayne Rooney Show | Ep 28
Wayne Rooney, Kelly Somers and Kae Kurd welcome Royal Oak assistant manager and internet icon Steve Bracknall into the studio.
Steve explains his rise to fame and how even doing the supermarket shop has become nearly impossible.
Wayne reveals the TV personality who annoyed him so much he decided to get the snip and shares the shocking pre-match meal he ate before his Premier League debut at just 16.
Steve gives us his top three British footballers ever, the five best-dressed managers in the game, and picks his all-time Royal Oak dream XI, while also explaining why modern football’s obsession with ball retention only exists to keep one famous pundit employed.
Elsewhere, Steve unloads on all-inclusive resorts and Wayne reminisces about his favourite childhood UK getaway. Kelly puts Steve under real pressure over his Royal Oak record, Wayne confesses the two foods he bulk-ordered while living in the US, and find out why he ends up looking like he’s heading to an Oasis gig.
Plus: how Steve wound up replacing Angry Ginge in the Baller League… and the inside story on his brand-new BBC podcast.
You can watch The Wayne Rooney Show on BBC Sport YouTube, iPlayer, as well as listen on BBC Sounds.
Listen to Game’s Gone: The Steve Bracknall Podcast on BBC Sounds and watch on YouTube.

ITV had the FA Cup Final from 2010 to 2014, so BBC Radio 5 Live commentary is used except for 2011, which has a dubbed on commentary from Guy Mowbray.

The final was covered by ITV in 2010-13, so that is why BBC Five Live commentary is used here. The BBC has shown the FA Cup again since 2015. I always wish that John Motson could have commentated on that 2014 game. He would have loved it.
