It is time to stop paying people who can work, more money than they would get from a job. That is the problem. No work, no money.

But the gov will allow C Tax and heating bill to rise to take the little extra…

Why is it stated that last year's decision to renage the Triple Lock is a one off. That decision will affect every future payment. 10% of 3.1% is a lot less than 10% of 8.8% and so follows forever not just for last year. It is known as "Compound Interest"

It is a cynical attempt to keep the grey vote, we have low, low pensions in Britain. This is no act of kindness.

  5. @thetimeisnow6822

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

We have already lost one cost of living rise when they removed the Triple-lock so in effect we will still be missing our money.
I HAVE PAID ALL MY LIFE TOWARDS MY PENSION & THE GOVERNMENT HAS NO RIGHT TO REFUSE IT.
    ASYLUM SEEKERS GET MORE ! ! !

Hello, i am a pensioner, dont think i am being ungreatful but this triple lock payment is 1.1% out of date as i type. Plus we dont get it until April. By then inflation will be 14%+. So its just allowing us to stand still. As for the £300 grant, i dont here anyone complaining about people being paid 80% of their wages to sit at home on their arses for 18 months thinking all theis free money is great. Well the w e f want their money back now.

  7. @SB-dg8hq

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

The only reason why the Conservatives honored the triple lock is because there will be a general election in the next year or so, if the Conservatives get in again they will mess around with the triple lock again as they did last year.

  8. @jester-j8073

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

the triple lock was set in stone so we were told the current tory leadership cannot be trusted hunt fmucked up the NHS and now he's got country to play with heaven help us
i have been a life long tory voter but will never vote for them again they can find millions for ukraine and billions to house feed and heat illigal immigrants they cannot be bothered to track down the thousands that just disapear
utter shambles sick to my stomach of them

Less than £1 per day. WOW! I can't wait to spoil myself with that! 🙄

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

Wait till the spring statement, it will be cancelled 🤔

  11. @naybobdenod

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

The 10.1% pension increase will not even cover the essentials just to live, exist maybe.
Its so disheartening to know that this increase was due to political pressures and not on the grounds of compassion.

  12. @DavidBrown-ok1rf

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

They know if they renege on this manifesto promise they will be toast, pensioners have the time and the will to go to the polling stations and vote them out, and yet yesterday Clarke was saying it was madness to pay pensioners the triple lock, a man who was elevated to the unelected house of lords and getting paid up to 6k a month plus expenses, this a man who has been sucking on the tax payers teat for more than 5 decades. "it's alright for me, but not for thee" 82 years old and and never had a real job in his entire life.

  13. @BILLVANNER

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

As a pensioner,I am pleased for the triple lock but there are still loads of young people in dire straits because of Sunak and #unt. Hopefully they might{unlikely} follow Boris and Liz out of the door before the next election. Nice dream.

  14. @alieneye04

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

I am a Veteran who protected our country and stood for our rights. Now I am a second-class citizen when compared to asylum seekers and low lives. Give us pensioners what we deserve for our support of Britain and our service to the nation. We cannot live on the pittance that the government gives us!!!

  15. @barriewilliams4526

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

WOW!! I'm off to order my new Tesla😂
It's a very poor pension to begin with, one of the poorest in Europe! 10.1% of very little is, very little……….

  16. @gailbaxter4900

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

It’s time to get the government to level up pensions. Someone born after April 1953 gets a better pension than someone born before. I’m not only a waspi woman but someone born 14 months after me gets 40 pounds a week more. It does not cost me less to live than someone younger than me. Every incremental increase widens that gap.

  17. @freespeechforever

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

Age Concern have very little to do with the campaign to keep the triple lock. The Silver Voices campaign was far more effective.

  18. @ANobodyatall

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

All paid for by the working population, who get less and less.

  19. @rontaylor995

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

Just what people need to remember we work and payed in for it. It is not free.
We know how to eat and we know how to stay warm what is this moron taking about .we were born in the 1950 no centrol heating .

  20. @nicyooyak7942

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

It’s only to keep their votes.

  21. @ciupak7932

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

Do people with £100k + assets NEED pension increase ??

  22. @Elizabeth-jd3mn

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

A pure political move to keep triple lock, Tories are desperate to keep the elderly vote while alienating everyone who works. No more OAP discounts from me I'm afraid. OAP the only ones getting anything. I'll be increasing prices for OAP customers to reimburse my 23% increase in fuel.

  23. @elenab4160

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

If you listen to “Rumble “ Fact checking Kate Shemirani and Charlie Ward I wonder how many of us will be around to claim it?

  24. @Jen-lg4hp

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

The government wants the British elderly DEAD- it's that obvious by now so they can import more cheap labour and do their globalist masters' bidding!

  25. @dingolovethrob

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

There is absolutely no reason to beleive that they won't simply U-turn on this supposed promise whenever they next find it convenient, as they have so many times in the past.
They have proven time and time again that they cannot be trusted with such empty promises on almost any topic you care to name.
Just look at their track record of broken promises, open lies and U-turns.
    Simply can't be trusted.

  26. @frankdevine7199

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

HI,ALL, DON'T FORGET THAT 2, MILLION, PENSIONERS NOW GOING TO PAY TAX, ("SO, IT'S NOT GOING TO BE 10.1%, ) ???

  27. @ML-xh1go

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

Can someone tell me please. That after working 45 years paying dues and demands I get £141-85, new pension only working 30 years they get £185-15. That is £ 43-30 difference and the gap will get worse over the years through percentage rises, how can this be fair,

  28. @francescostello1377

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

Relieved, or grateful for some crumbs from globalist table. Can't believe GB has a journalist from our corrupt corporate owned media as a

    January 27, 2024 at 3:56 am

Is it not the literal definition of a "Triple LOCK" that is cannot be removed?
Its not like they have done you a special favour…
