Test and Trace in England hits another low with just 58% of contacts reached – BBC News

Published

on

The Test and Trace scheme in England has had its worst-performing week since the beginning of July, when it comes to reaching the contacts of those infected in the community.

The tracing team only reached 58% of contacts of those testing positive in the first week of October.

Meanwhile people working at one coronavirus testing laboratory have told of their concerns about safety standards.

One scientist who worked at the Milton Keynes Lighthouse Lab claimed staff were being put at risk.

The Health and Safety Executive has found breaches in safety following the claims. The company which runs the laboratory says it has strict safety measures in place and the government said it regularly reviews and inspects the labs it uses.

Huw Edwards presents BBC News at Ten reporting by health editor Hugh Pym and health correspondent Sophie Hutchinson.

Please pay attention to the overly heard sentence: 'Safety is our number 1 priority.'
The issues i can see are two:
    1. Most humans still learn things mnemonically. So, i am not surprised they just repeat this sentence without appreciating what it really means.
    2. Health and Education are two sectors where there should not be space for companies. Look at many universities: they are run as companies but under the banner of charities!
The last comment i like to make, which i learned only recently from a French blogger, is: CAPITALISM in NOT fully compatible with DEMOCRACY.
And this might be one reason why we have these sort of issues.
How to solve this fundamental flaw is way beyond my reach.
All i can say is that i like aspects of both CAPITALISM and DEMOCRACY.
    Thanks

Let's waste money on trying to control and track a virus but we wont talk about health parameters that enable one to improve their health and their ability to fend of the virus if one is exposed to it Let's do everything except anything to do with health.

I guess people are realizing that this contact tracing is nothing but nonsense designed to force control of people. What absolute garbage you keep pushing! And all of this while the WHO has told countries to STOP with Lock Downs! You are really getting it wrong! And we know positive test does not mean people are actually sick with the almost completely unreliable PCR tests…

Iran and UAE drones used in Sudan war, evidence suggests | BBC News

Published

on

Iran and the United Arab Emirates have been accused of violating a UN arms embargo by supplying drones to the warring sides of the Sudan civil war.

A BBC investigation has documented the Sudanese Army’s use of types of Iranian drones in its war against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Evidence has also emerged that the RSF received modified commercial drones from the UAE.

Foreign-made drones prominently changed the course of the war on the ground since their appearance in 2023.

Sudan’s armed forces have been fighting the RSF for the last 14 months.

The BBC has contacted the Sudanese army, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Qeshm Fars Air to comment on the allegations that Iranian drones are being used in the conflict but has not had a response.
