State Comptroller Report on Poverty Trends in NYS
Almost 2.7 million New Yorkers, or 13.9% of the state’s population, lived in poverty in 2021, compared to 12.8% of all Americans, according to the first in a series of reports by State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli examining “New Yorkers in Need.” The state ranked 13th in the U.S., and New Yorkers of color had poverty rates twice of white New Yorkers.

The International Front Page’s Today’s 5 Big Global Stories Breaking News
1- “1000 Missiles are Locked and Loaded and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran, with thousands of more to immediately follow, should the Iranian Government act on its threat, pronounced in many corners of the Globe, to assassinate, or attempt to assassinate, the sitting President of the United States of America, in this case, ME!,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.

2- Ukraine has already disrupted Russia’s ability to buy fuel abroad, Zelenskyy says.
The president said Russia has gone from being a major energy exporter to searching for fuel imports because of the war.
“Ukraine has already disrupted it. We’ve already done it.”
Zelenskyy added that if Boris Yeltsin had known Russia would end up importing fuel instead of exporting it because of its own war, he would have chosen a different successor.
3- US Democratic lawmaker Ro Khanna says he was detained by armed Israeli settlers during a visit to the occupied West Bank, describing the incident as a firsthand look at the human toll faced by Palestinians. Khanna said settlers blocked his group’s van with US-made rifles before Israeli forces arrived, while the Israeli military said troops dispersed the civilians and allowed the vehicles to continue.
4- Elon Musk says SpaceX could one day become more valuable than the rest of Earth’s economy combined if it achieves its most ambitious goals. His vision includes expanding Starlink, perfecting the Starship rocket, and eventually establishing permanent human settlements on the Moon and Mars. While SpaceX is already valued at around $400 billion, Musk’s prediction remains a long-term ambition rather than a guaranteed outcome.

5- Researchers at MIT and EPFL have developed a new bio-inspired robot that can swim underwater, leap out of the water, and fly through the air like diving seabirds. The lightweight Flapping-Wing Aerial-Aquatic Vehicle was inspired by birds such as puffins and loons, using flapping wings to move through both water and air. Scientists say similar robots could one day help monitor oceans, collect water samples, and study hard-to-reach marine environments.

What are your ideas of good shape financially? Is it in good shape financially for this month or this year? What is the financial forecast for next year?
Some people don't have refrigerators with freezers. Some people don't have stoves with ovens. Some people have used their credit cards to purchase refrigerators with freezers. Some people have used their credit cards to purchase clothes dryers and washing machines. Some people have used their credit cards to purchase stoves with ovens. It is sad because they have a lot of credit card debts from using credit cards to purchase stoves, refrigerators and clothes dryers, and washing machines. Frankfort, NY and Ilion, NY and Mohawk, NY and Utica, NY and Herkimer, NY and Oneonta, NY and ???

COVID-19 and coronavirus is why most people are unemployed in 2020 and 2021. There are economic recessions and there is severe poverty in the rural geographic area that I live in.
There is severe poverty which causes unemployment in Upstate New York in Frankfort, NY and Utica, NY and Herkimer, NY and Ilion, NY and Mohawk, NY and the surrounding geographic areas.
When they put honest information in the letters from the Social Security Administration such as the geographic area is poverty-stricken and in need of poverty alleviation and that they don't have enough employment for the amount of people who need employment then the United States government can address the issues that are causing poverty

In New Hartford, NY a lot of the stores owned by larger corporations are being closed and are going out of business because no one has any money to buy stuff. Chuck E Cheese closed and went out of business. Pier 1 Imports is closed and went out of business. J.C. Penney is closing in New Hartford, NY. It is sad because the people who worked at these stores worked part-time and they did not make a lot of money working at these stores.

Economics and financial are food stamps and HEAP and cash assistance and these things are public assistance which money from the government pays for. 🙁 The majority of the people all have to have public assistance to have food and pay rent and pay for transportation, etc. 🙁 The way that the criterion is interpreted can cause poverty. The way that the criterion is interpreted can also cause prosperity. 🙁 The communities that interpret the criterion for public assistance so that people can have more is where I would want to live. If all caseworkers interpreted the criterion in ways that were a lot more generous then there would less homelessness. Social Services cause a lot of poverty.

It's environmental. What is an environment? What creates environments?
The criterion for public assistance in this memo should have been followed in about 2002 according to the memo
https://otda.ny.gov/policy/directives/2003/ADM/03_ADM-10.pdf?fbclid=IwAR1bUaUSbqxPuWm2p2ItOmrVVLWjyfqtMeLG4YVpmtJr0QqxvC_mhFo7rpU
Everyone would have a lot more if Social Services followed the criterion for public assistance in these memos
Yes, I agree too
When you read the criterion in that memo they should have been doing this stuff for public assistance in about 2002
According to the criterion in that memo, people should be able to keep money won from Bingo which would improve business at the casinos
I'm reading the link you sent about recipients being able to keep some money for the purpose of paying tuition now, Becky. That's a great idea. I'm glad they're doing this now. It's about time.

Transportation is very expensive especially in rural geographic areas
The New York State highway is absurd in how they want to do stuff that causes poverty and homelessness
Tolls for the highway are used for what?
When people pay tolls on the highways in New York State where does the money go?
E-Z pass can be used to pay tolls on the New York State Highway but what does the New York State Highway use that money for.
Outrage and outrageous is how the New York State Highway is for tolls in the month of December 2022
Money from the government is used to pay for the blacktop and heavy equipment snowplows and trucks so why do they charge people tolls for using the New York State highway?

There are economic recessions in the United States of America that cause poverty which causes unemployment and that causes the need for almost everyone to be on SSI which is Supplemental Secuirty Income from the Social Security Administration and public assistance.

Unsophisticated and undeveloped ways of doing public assistance and SSI which is Supplemental Security Income from the Social Security Administration in rural Upstate New York
A different choice of vocabulary words might be helpful for emotional feelings

A lot more people would live in rural geographic areas if the government improved how they do public assistance and SSI which is Supplemental Security Income from the Social Security Administration

I am grateful to have heat. I am grateful to have shampoo. I am grateful to have hair conditioner. I am grateful to have soap. I am grateful to have toothpaste. I am grateful to have a toothbrush.

Most people have credit card debts because Social Services doesn't give them enough food stamps so they use credit cards to purchase food. A lot of people max out their credit cards to buy hygiene products which is soap and shampoo and toothpaste and to pay for gas for their cars for transportation. Social Services is a government agency and they only give what they want and to who they want. Social Services don't give enough public assistance to people so people use credit cards to buy food and basic necessities.
