Everything can happen. Yes there will be "humilating" results but these are the biggest clubs in the world. They cannot compete without each other.

Barca will be just fine, just like Real Madrid will be just fine. Spain wants them to be there at the top, so Spain will ensure that they will be, one way or another. As has been said in the States about American football stadiums: “We like sports. We are going to pay for it.”

Man this just makes me love Papa Perez and management of Real Madrid. Despite success, hes managed to keep madrid on top while reinvesting in the squad.

It is a disgrace that Barca were able to register and be able to play these players given their financial state. It is all on La Liga and their soft touch, stand up to the club and tell them their previous mismanagement will not be tolerated anymore. I understand the supporters angst but this type of behaviour has got to stop now. Won't happen though..

They let maradonna go after 1 season, original R9 go after 1 season, messi go to get depay. Grizzy for 120 million. Sold their best assets to get raphina, when they had auba depay Torres fati and dembele. And many more dumb purchases and decisions. The management has ruined my club

  19. @nawedakhter9775

    January 26, 2024 at 12:09 am

Love it or hate it, there is no other club in the world which gets this much headlines or media attention.

    Always and Forever ❤💙.

I started watching football bcoz of Messi and today when he is gone my love for Barcelona remains the same.

Even RM didn't make this much headlines when they won the UCL.

Our one loss or a transfer rumour creates a buzz across Europe and the world.

    Always and forever

    Visca Barca ❤💙.

It’s not a gamble for the love of god stop this they have just sacrificed 5% of their revenue for 25 yrs for a cash injection this season that’s it 5% of their yearly revenue it doesn’t make a big difference for barca so this is not a gamble ffs

This ist what Happens when you have a President whos Ego is far to big . They have a massive Strike force Up Front and a defence of old age pensioners. Result is Game over in the UCL. The end of one of the greatest Clubs in the world. Real Tragedy

Rooney Meets…Francis Jeffers & John Rooney: “We Want Another FA Cup Upset” | The Wayne Rooney Show

Published

on

It’s a proper family affair on this week’s The Wayne Rooney Show as Wayne is joined by his brother, Macclesfield manager John Rooney, and his assistant, the former Everton striker Francis Jeffers.

The episode starts where it all began: Croxteth. The trio reminisce about growing up together, with Francis recalling seeing a young Wayne up to mischief, long before the Premier League spotlight arrived. They share stories from their teenage years, including nights in their local pub, and the legendary moment one of the regulars started diving around the bar wearing an actual Peter Schmeichel shirt Wayne had handed over after an Everton match. Wayne opens up on how much he looked up to Francis when he burst into Everton’s first team as a teenager. He also reveals that Francis was the inspiration behind his famous “Once A Blue, Always A Blue” message after scoring in the FA Youth Cup Final.

The focus then shifts to the present day and Macclesfield’s remarkable FA Cup run. John and Francis look ahead to their huge 4th round tie with Premier League Brentford, discussing the mood in the camp and whether they believe another upset is on the cards. They explain why it’s important not to overload players with information, how belief builds during a tie, and why Macclesfield’s pitch could be a major leveller against top-flight opposition.

The pair also relive their stunning 3rd round win over Crystal Palace, with Francis revealing that a half-time row between Palace’s manager and captain convinced him the upset was on. Wayne adds his own perspective, explaining just how easy it can be for Premier League sides to get caught cold in these fixtures.

You can watch The Wayne Rooney Show on BBC Sport YouTube, iPlayer, as well as listen on BBC Sounds.
