    I think many poor people would be more thankful to be able to brew their own vodka than eat whole foods.

    I batch cook and freeze the spare meals (although not on the scale described in the video!), but if you're so broke you're using a food bank, can you afford to run a freezer big enough to store all these meals? Still not convinced by the 30p portion either – how big are these portions?

    Some people are too lazy or stupid to cook for themselves and rely on expensive and unhealthy takeaways instead and expect the taxpayer to pay for it whilst they're on their mobiles watching Netflix etc. Get off your arses and start working for a living and learn to budget your money and stop expecting the State to continue to pay for your bills. Learn to stand on your own two feet.

    Simon Martin also forgot to mention that it is necessary to have a ready stocked store cupboard with basics. Apart from salt, pepper and sugar, also flour, pulses, cereal, spices, tinned food and other provisions.
