India suspends visas for Canadians as row escalates – BBC News

Published

on

India has suspended visa services for Canadian citizens, as the row over the killing of a Sikh separatist on Canadian soil continues.

Tensions were raised earlier this week as Canada said it was investigating “credible allegations” linking India with the murder of separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

India rejected the allegation calling it “absurd”, before visa service provider BLS posted that visas have been suspended “due to operational reasons”.

Analysts said relations between the countries, which have been strained for months, are now at an all time low.

Canadians ignored the Air India Kanishka bombing because the people died were mainly brown. In Canada brown lives are not considered as valuable as white lives except as a voting block. This subtle racism is pervasive throughout the country.

Sikh terrorists might plan another Airline attack in the near future that they did in 1985. This is one of rhe main reason why visas from Canada has been suspended…

India should take Canada to the International Court of Justice for the crime that it's agents were accomplices in Kanishka bombing which killed Indian citizens aboard. Canada must pay one billion US $ for every Indian killed in the tragedy caused by Canada's criminal participation in the crime against humanity. US should persuade Canada to cooperate with India and ICJ in this matter.

The indian reporter archana never answered any question properly but still kept on talking forever beating around the bush. With all those “ahhs” and “umms”. Disgraceful reporting. Especially when you are working in collaboration with an English news channel like BBC. She should be put under an English coaching regime. Especially when she chose to work for an English reporting channel.

There is nothing surprise in this decision by India. A former indian citizen after became a canadian citizen has organized several rallys in Canada and India believes he is the chief culprit behind the campaign to have a country for silks in Punjab. Naturally a country is concerned if a former citizen manipulating to divide India and perhaps they would organized to get this person eliminated as happened in Osama bin laden killing

Nightclub fire kills 25 in Goa, India, officials say | BBC News

Published

on

A fire at a popular nightclub in the coastal region of Goa in India has killed 25 people, according to local officials.

Most of the victims are believed to be staff at the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub, located near a popular beach. Tourists are also said to be among the dead.

Police believe a gas cylinder exploded in the club’s kitchen, causing a blaze to rip through the venue on Saturday at midnight local time.

Most of the bodies were found near the kitchen “suggesting that the victims were employed at the club”, said Alok Kumar, Goa’s Director General of Police.

Goa’s chief minister Pramod Sawant said “three to four” tourists had died but did not provide their ages or nationalities.

The Royal Navy has unveiled some of the ways it plans to counter what the government regards as an increasingly serious threat from Russia to the UK’s undersea infrastructure.

They include new technologies and prototypes, such as unmanned surface vessels, helicopters and autonomous submarine gliders.

The Ministry of Defence said in a statement that the programme was “in direct response to the resurgence in Russian submarine and underwater activity”.

The government says there has been a 30% increase in the number of Russian vessels threatening UK waters in the last two years.

Russia says its the UK government that’s being provocative.

Volodymyr Zelensky due to meet European leaders for high-level Ukraine talks | BBC News

Published

on

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky is meeting key European leaders in London on Monday, as Ukraine’s allies plan their response to an ongoing US push for Kyiv to accept concessions in peace talks.

The leaders of France and Germany will join Zelensky and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at No 10 Downing Street as they seek to ensure any deal deters a future Russian attack.

The high-level meeting follows three days of talks in Florida, where Zelensky’s chief negotiator pushed for changes to a White House plan widely considered to accommodate central Kremlin demands.

The US and Ukraine said there was progress but US President Donald Trump appeared to criticise Zelensky on Sunday, saying he “hasn’t read” the draft.
