Russia-Ukraine crisis: UK sending weapons to defend Ukraine – BBC Newsnight
The US said it has hit “dozens” of Iranian military targets in overnight attacks, in response to Iran hitting commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
The military said it struck “air-defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats”, using aircraft, ships, and drones – including “one-way attack sea drones for the first time”.
“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade,” the US military said. “Iran does not control it”.
In response, Iran said it targeted US bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait and also radar systems in Oman.

President Donald Trump has said the US is reinstating a naval blockade of Iranian ports and will impose a 20% charge on all cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz following days of escalating strikes between the two countries.
He said this would stop “Iran’s ships or customers” from entering or leaving the key oil shipping route, but “all other countries will have fair and open use of the Strait”.
Iran’s foreign minister later said whoever provides safe passage “should be compensated for this service”, but Iran would remain the strait’s “GUARDIAN” – using Trump’s word.
Tehran and Washington clashed over the strait’s control after exchanging strikes in the region overnight and on Monday.
The US said it carried out strikes against military targets in Iran, targeting air defence systems, coastal radars, and missile and drone sites. Iran said it responded by striking US military bases in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, and radars in Oman.

Explosions have been heard near two Iranian port cities, Bandar Abbas and Bushehr, state media has reported.
It comes after another night of strikes between the US and Iran, with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps saying it hit two UAE tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and targeted US facilities in Jordan and Bahrain.
The UAE called the attack “brazen”, adding that an Indian crew member was killed and eight others were injured.
Meanwhile, the US military says it completed strikes on targets aimed at degrading “Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping” – Iranian state media reports three people were killed.

The US military said it was carrying out a new wave of strikes on targets in Iran. It said the aim of the attacks was to degrade Iran’s ability to attack shipping in the strait of Hormuz. It came ass the US Navy resumed its blockade of Iran’s ports.
Iran said that control of the strait of Hormuz was required for its national security and it will exercise sovereignty over the key shipping lane, whatever the cost.
President Trump announced that he was scrapping a plan he had announced a day earlier, for placing a 20% toll or tariff on all cargos passing through the strait of Hormuz.

UK did, however, win two world wars. Strength of the current British army is about 110,000. During the first war, British army had 3.8 million men. Of that – supply of 1.7 million troops, food and military hardware came from India. In the second war- British army was 4-5 million strong. Of that, India supplied 2.5 million troops, food stuff, and military hard wares. Acquisition of food stuff for the British army- during second world war, starved five million people of Bengal to death in 1943. Anglo-American west ignores and censors such facts to magnify their heroism and superiority. As ordinary human beings and victors they can’t be expected to behave otherwise. Here the behavior and reaction of the vanquished and the subjugated of Indian subcontinent must be noted. Facts just pointed out are hardly ever mentioned or discussed in the circle of school curriculum, history, politics, media, cultural circles etc. Governments of former colonies are being run by the “Imported Government” against whom Imran Khan of Pakistan seems to be taking a stand. A phenomenon seen in South Asia for the first time in 75 years. It is essential that critics of Anglo-American Imperialism extend their efforts to activate the exploited human resources of South Asia whose human and natural resources were and still is the source of Imperial power of Anglo-American west. Why not we work together to mobilize series of independent social media outside monopoly capitalist with explicit purpose of cutting across language and technological barrier and reach out to those who suffer most to satisfy interest of the military industrial complex.

I think the solution is very simple: Britain can employ the professional hangman Harry Allen to hang the Russian soldiers one by one. Harry is very good in his work. Before assuming the post of the His Majesty Queen's national executioner, he was fully trained in hanging chickens. Then he passed to humans. He had hung men in Cyrpus, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands etc, with astounding results. So, the Russian soldiers will be a mere delight for him.

It turns out the UK did send thousands (around 5000) of NLAW and Javelin anti-tank missiles. Not to mention counter-battery artillery radar, Stearstreak anti-air missiles, oh and no mention intelligence, and the fact the UK trained 24,000 Ukrainian. No one really expected this level of western technology and weapons involved in this war on Ukraines side.

What the Ukrainian need is a whole bunch of big 4×4 ATV's, so they can buzz around around in the bush, and damaged roads, and carry supplies, and those nasty little anti tank missiles, and anti-air missiles to shoot, and reload drones…and they are only about $5k…of course, it could cost a couple grand to ship, but that's pretty cheap, compared to millions for the heavy armored vehicles that are not protecting occupants!

We seem to not listen, we didn't listen when the Russians said leave Ukraine out of NATO, and now Putin has said his nuclear options could be used. But we just don't listen.. it's all about us.
