Nigeria criticises UK Covid red list as ‘travel apartheid’ – BBC News

Published

on

Nigeria has criticised Britain’s travel restrictions after it was placed on the red list amid fears over the Omicron variant.

“What is expected is a global approach, not selective,” Sarafa Tunji Isola, Nigeria’s high commissioner to the UK, told the BBC on Monday.

He also echoed comments made by the UN’s chief, who described restrictions imposed on some southern African countries as “travel apartheid”.

New rules came into force at 04:00 GMT, which means travellers arriving from Nigeria will be required to enter hotel quarantine – at their own expense.

The Southern Africans sat there and said Yes Boss! Yes Saa! Decolonization is more than having a black president.
Zim more disgusting was ready to milk its Citizens through a punitive 2 weeks extortive quarantine. Nigeria fought for all the 12 countries at Ambassador level. I respect u.

    Thank you.

Further, African leaders are arguing to get formulas for vaccines that over 40% of the western populations themselves refuse to take… No disrespect, but are you serious?? Up and until a few months ago there was barely any COVID cases in the Continent. Then a White South African doctor discovers a variant and all of a sudden Africa is to blame… Why do you feel the need to insert yourself into someone else's misery. This condemnation is not yours. Have you seen the demonstrations in Europe and the US? You want these people who have committed genocide against us to now come and stick their hypodermics full of God knows what in our babies? They do not produce cures, only treatments. Dr. Sebi produced cures for Aids, Cancer, and a whole host of other diseases, from "natural" sources, they imprisoned him and poisoned him.

The Higher Power is hitting them with diseases and you are fighting your hardest to get next to them to share in the punishment that is not yours? This was prophesied long ago… And not only disease, 32 tornadoes across five US Midwestern states in 24 hours… We have fought hard and supported you all throughout the apartheid years. Sports stars from African America, the Caribbean and Black British populations, then when it comes time for you to get together with us so we can support each other, you turn around and shake hands with the same Muzungu people who in their heart of hearts are wishing for your death and destruction. How is that possible??

Well my African family, we are still here and we are still fighting for righteousness, truth and justice, even after 500 years in the belly of the beast. We will never leave you, because we know who we are, whether you care to accept us or not.

Good Lord! Personally I would be thanking all the Gods that the UK put me on their "Red List". The UK and Europe has way more Corona Virus infections than any country on the Continent. If I was not already there, you could not pay me to go there. African countries should be putting the UK and Europe on their "Black List"…. Are you kidding me. These countries have been bringing disease to the Continent for centuries… At one point they infected 70% of the Namibia population with Aids. Wakey, wakey Africa… Further, you do not need western formulas or patents to produce your own vaccine. There is a Trillion Dollar market for a vaccine made from natural substances and you have everything you need right there on the Continent to produce one. Think about it! If you want to produce a chemical based vaccine, why not partner with Cuba? Don't be a follower especially of known criminals, liars and deceivers. Your looted artifacts are still being held illegally in their museums… Only last week the US was actively supporting insurgents to overthrow the legitimate Ethiopian Government. Why is it that you feel the need to do business with these people and win their approval… Come on. Put your own interests first. There is nothing in the west but more of the same. The US is barely 300 years old, Europe and the UK, 3,000, Africa over 200,000. Need I say more. The answers you seek are right there at home or within your highly prominent, enlightened and capable diaspora… We are here trying to connect with you to give you additional strings to your bow and you are ignoring us to spend time arguing with the miscreants that created the problems in the first place. Please, we need you to understand this and thank you in advance 🙂 Shap Shap

Why is nobody talking about the Downing st press room? The video of the press conference were she talks about the cheese and wine party could not have taken place in the new conference room as shown in the video as claimed as the renovation wasn’t complete until much later March or April I believe.
Last November /December it would have been pre renovation condition.THINK ABOUT IT. It’s bullshit yet again. They’re trying to clear a path for his resignation as it’s getting too hot for him.If you don’t pay attention you won’t notice when they fuck up..and they constantly trip themselves up.

Is the real reason for all these Booster shots the fact they lied about uptake numbers in the first place, but then had these contracts with Big pharma to create revenue, and making them "boosters" now are the only way to fill quotas of purchasing/sales etc?

Africa's biggest problem is that of lack of leadership. Right now all the African countries in the Commonwealth should have started treating to leave the Commonwealth as a sign of protest against such a racist and the highest level of discrimination by the western countries. It's really said that in this day and age we have people of a particular race who still feel they are superior to any other race. The biggest problem is that those that still control the power in these countries are old people who are out of touch with the realities on the ground. Shame on the western governments who made this choice.

"If you have to be persuaded, pressured, reminded , lied to, incentivized, coerced, bullied, socially shamed, guilt-tripped, threatened, punished and criminalized….. if all of this is considered necessary to gain your compliance – you can be absolutely certain that what is being promoted is not in your best interest." – Ian Watson

China’s ‘iPhone city’ placed in Covid lockdown – BBC News

A coronavirus lockdown has been put in place around the world’s largest iPhone manufacturing plant in China.

The lockdown in Zhengzhou follows footage shared on social media of workers fleeing the Foxconn plant due to strict on-site Covid rules being issued.

Now, the area surrounding the plant has been put into strict Covid measures, with people being asked to work from home if they can.

Conditions at the plant have been described as “miserable” with low amounts of food and water and people confined to rooms as a result of the lockdown.

Fukushima: The nuclear disaster that shook the world – BBC News

Published

on

On March 11th 2011, Japan’s most powerful earthquake on record triggered a tsunami, which then caused a meltdown at a nuclear power plant.
It wiped entire towns off the map and forced Fukushima’s residents from their homes as radiation leaked from the plant. The government estimates the disaster could cost nearly $200bn, and the clean-up may take until 2051.
Today the prefecture of Fukushima is still dealing with the aftermath of the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. What happened that day, and what was it like for the people who lived through it?
The BBC’s Tui McLean explains how the triple disaster unfolded.
