hahaha before the competition Italy was not considered amongst favourites for lack of stars, after winning not having a star helped them to win, accordingly to these prepared punduits.
As italian supporter I could only dream what could we do with an italian Harry Kane as center forwarder.

Are you kidding me Rio!?!?! Such a dumb remark and very disrespectful to Italy. This man needs to shut up and stop putting his foot in his mouth. My days, Italy learned their lesson from the last tournament that they missed out and where humbled by it. Italy's squad is full of talented superstar players but none of them wanted to be put on a pedestal but rather come together as a team as you can see how they play on the pitch. England on the other hand, I suppose Rio would probably say it's over packed with super stars is a friggin joke. Here is one thing I will leave to Rio the B grade sporting clothing seller for SportsDirect. Did you see how the Italians manage the penalty shoot out? Not one player feared to take one. They all believe in each other. I've already heard your excuses for England, which is very pity and poor. Italy won with passion and as a team.

All I can say is bring on the World Cup. I am so excited about this team we've gone through a lot of years of pain(10-15) in Italy which, is crazy for us to be bad for so many years. But we're back and better than ever.

u dont get it , rio. italy never put an individual above the team. look at bearzot in 82 or lippi in 06. when they had to make their decision, the ones they were sure about , they did. the media was hammering bearzot for taking paolo rossi to the WC, they said he was finished. in 06, after the calciopoli scandal, nobody believed in the team, except the team itself. lippi had to make a decision, and played totti, and left del piero on the bench as a super sub. thats balls.

Ferdinand is right but for the wrong reasons. Mancini didn't have to compete with any prima donnas and could take control of the group. He wouldn't have had to worry about his instructions being questioned and players not cooperating. The flow on effect is players get along with each other better, there is less jealousy because "why should I follow instructions when so and so doesn't" isn't happening etc.
