Guilty: Ghislaine Maxwell faces life in jail for sex trafficking – BBC News

Published

on

Ghislaine Maxwell has been found guilty of recruiting and trafficking young girls to be sexually abused by the late American financier Jeffrey Epstein.

The 60-year-old was found guilty on five of the six counts she faced – including the most serious charge, that of sex trafficking a minor.

The verdict was reached after five full days of deliberation by a 12-person jury in New York.

It means the British socialite could spend the rest of her life behind bars.

The verdict followed a month-long trial that featured testimony from four women who described being abused by Epstein between 1994 and 2004.

Her Mum was French nothing British about her too, as if we don't have enough with the insult of Jimmy Saville actually descending from here. SHE IS NO BRITON as there is no BRITISH blood in her veins

“From late 1988, when the Franklin case first broke into public view, until mid-1991, at least 15 people associated with the case as investigators, alleged perpetrators, or potential witnesses, died sudden deaths, many of them violent.”

Conspiracy of Silence is a documentary which was originally listed for viewing in TV Guide Magazine, and was to be aired on the Discovery Channel on May 3, 1994.
This documentary exposed a network of religious leaders and Washington politicians who flew children to Washington D.C. for sex orgies. Many children suffered the indignity of wearing nothing but their underwear and a number displayed on a piece of cardboard hanging from their necks when being auctioned off to foreigners in Las Vegas, Nevada and Toronto, Canada.
At the last minute before airing, unknown congressmen threatened the TV Cable industry with restrictive legislation if this documentary was aired. Almost immediately, the rights to the documentary were purchased by unknown persons who had ordered all copies destroyed.
A copy of this videotape was furnished anonymously to former Nebraska state senator and attorney John De Camp who made it available to retired FBI Agent Ted L. Gunderson. While the video quality is not top grade, this tape is a blockbuster in what is revealed by the participants involved.

This woman is a devil. Ghislaine Maxwell has destroyed many innocent women when they were underage . Being a woman, she has done unforgivable cruelty to many women . She must rot in jail. I feel like giving her a tight slap. Many disgusting men of power are involved in this dirty crime. Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, Prince Andrew etc. Now they are saying that they don't know that disgusting Epstein well.

There is always much more to it. Gislaine's dad was a questionable person and she may have been a victim of his from childhood herself. Epstein threatened her and she was basically his slave. She could not get away from him. This man was a gangster in his own brutal way. She was probably a mind controlled victim of perverts herself, from childhood.

Ukrainians in Russian-occupied areas told to be ready to fight for Russia – BBC News

Published

on

Ukraine’s progress against Russian forces in its southern regions of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia has been far more limited than its successes in the north-east.

Both sides come under regular fire as they rely heavily on artillery to push forward.

The crackdown on people who do not support Russian rule in occupied areas is rising, with soldiers going door-to-door to check on who lives in each house and whether they could be drafted into fighting for Russia.

Govt will apply “extreme caution” to easing lockdown – BBC News

Published

on

The government has said it will exercise “extreme caution” over lifting the lockdown. Ministers stress it will be a gradual process, not a single leap to freedom. It comes as the Prime Minister prepares to address the nation, to set out the next phase in tackling the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile major airlines have called for clarity after being told that the government will bring in a 14-day quarantine for anyone arriving in the UK, from any country apart from the Republic of Ireland.

The transport secretary Grant Shapps has called on people to walk and cycle to work, once the lockdown restrictions are eased in England. He said it was a “once-in-a-generation opportunity” to transform the way people get around.

Senior clerics are urging the government to act cautiously before allowing places of worship to reopen. All churches, mosques, synagogues and temples closed their doors almost two months ago.

UK confirms ban on extradition to Hong Kong as tension with China rises – BBC News

Published

on

In the latest evidence of growing tension between Britain and China the foreign secretary Dominic Raab has confirmed that the UK is suspending its extradition treaty with Hong Kong.

It’s in response to Beijing’s imposition of a new security law aimed at ending political protests in Hong Kong.

The UK has already offered residency rights to 3 million Hong Kong citizens but China has accused the UK of “brutal meddling” in its internal affairs.

In Hong Kong pro-democracy campaigners who fought against the introduction of the security law say they’re being pursued by the Chinese authorities.

Huw Edwards presents BBC News at Ten reporting from Political Editor Laura Kuenssberg and from Danny Vincent in Hong Kong.
