Aung San Suu Kyi being treated well, Myanmar army insists – BBC News
Myanmar’s military has told the BBC that authorities are not mistreating ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
The 76-year-old former leader has not been seen in public since a February military coup removed her from office.
The BBC’s interview with military spokesman Major General Zaw Min Tun comes after the release of US journalist Danny Fenster who had been sentenced to 11 years in prison.
Dozens of journalists and thousands of people have been held since the coup.

Australian MP Helen Haines has been taken to hospital with “critical injuries” after she was hit by a car near her regional office in Wangaratta, Victoria, police have said.
“This wasn’t an accident – there was a deliberate act, it would appear,” said Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
Police have said they’re investigating whether it was “intentional” and a 43-year-old man, from nearby Tarrawingee, was arrested at the scene by a passer-by.

I was detained for 3.5 months in China for overstaying. I was just recently released and got deported. There are hundreds of Myanmar girls and boys as young as 18 years old in detention too. Some of them have been detained for more than a year already. It is horrible inside the detention facility and a few of them are already very sick … They can’t go home because of what is happening in their country …😭😭😭 Please pray for our Myanmar sisters and brothers.🙏🏻
