   Renewables are an expensive waste of our money. If you removed the subsidies the whole industry would collapse. 20 years now and it's not become any cheaper, in fact, it has gone up… Liam mentioned it supplied up to 40%, good luck with that!, over the course of a year it is far less than that, and then we have to replace the whole lot again in 25 years.. It's mad!..
   More oil, Gas and nuclear are needed and work on cleaning that up until the tech is there to offer an affordable alternative..

   So the licences issued a couple of years ago to build more wind power have not taken off due to a reported 150% increase in costs, and a small pay in tariff. Is this another taxpayer cost coming?

   Unless there is a complete rethink by our Government on this whole Net Zero nonsense, we're stuffed anyway. There is a massive disincentive for companies to invest in Oil and Gas exploration – it's called taxation – in excess of 70% on their profits, no investment capital will be made available from the "woke" banks and all the "backhanders" flowing from the green industry, who we subsidise by the Green Levy. The Great Reset is well and truly on a roll and we are all going to get colder and poorer as a result.

   the government must demand that for energy security measures ALL of the gas and oil that is extracted from the 100 licences MUST BE USED in the uk market exclusively, we cannot keep selling our valuable supplies to the world while energy prices are constantly being pushed to breaking point, wind and solar is a dirty time bomb waiting to happen, energy is fed by the green levy, futher more energy companies are NOT investing on recycling or decommission once it has reached its end of life, BP has numerous turbines that were supposed to feed there stores and the grid in the early 2000. the manufacture went bust, and all they have done is let them rot, this will be played out right across this nation unless we demand that the government make them sign a decommissioning bond, regardless of if the energy supplier or manufacture go bust, funds are there to pay for its recycling and removal of ground rebar, which unless removed will prevent future technology or more advanced turbines being installed. our future should not be put into just solar and wind, you only need to look at the mistake spain had with its solar rollout, but it goes further than that, this shortsightedness of putting all our energy needs into just electric based, is a shortsighted built by city members that assume nothing will happen, we have seen numerous storms that have taken down the grid we only need to go back to storm arwen to see, the big issue, temperatures dropped to -8.9 knocking 13000 homes off the grid for not a few hours but days some still not restored 5 days later, without the gas many in the area would have suffered serious medical issues or possible death,

   gas whether is bio, hydrogen or petrochemical based HAS to be a key part of our future energy needs, its not that long ago we were talking about rolling blackouts, and the billions needed to be in invested has to be uk government nationalised, it a serious national risk when other hostile or strained relations such as russia and china invest in our wind industry any profits made will go to them than feed the national books paying for infrastructure and unnamed projects for future generations than deplete our pockets and force higher taxes,
   industry and production still require a gas based heating or cooking method, if we move these industries over to electric only they won't upgrade they will simply relocate than spend millions updating a building, this will lead to higher unemployment and even more trade being imported than produced locally, in the era where governments are so worried about us driving because of the emmissions, cutting the amount of ships and trucks needed to deliver from abroad should be key than constantly outsourcing to abroad,

    All new cars have mild hybrids anyway. So they will use that to push back 2030 to 2035 and beyond. It will happen as the grid is decades away from having the capacity it needs.

    It takes 15 -20 years to recoup home solar installations , to save approx £250-£400 a year based on current energy prices

    UK energy is by far the most expensive compared to other major nations. And on top of that we are paying green taxes on top of that. The UK consumers are getting a terrible deal. It time to remove the green levy on all bills as it's simply being used to pad out energy companies profits.

    Rolls-Royce SMR. RR are ready to go after completing the design development phase. But… The government has been warned that delays in commissioning the first tranche of mini nuclear reactors risk undermining action to tackle the energy crisis.

    Plans to develop five small modular reactors (SMRs) by Rolls-Royce, each generating enough power for a million homes, had been hindered by red tape within the Treasury, Tobias Ellwood MP said.

    “The Rolls-Royce design is now stuck between the development and delivery phases, and that delay means the built-in advantage that Rolls-Royce has – its experience of procuring nuclear reactors for the Royal Navy – is being lost because of unnecessary delays and bureaucracy,” he said in a parliamentary debate on Wednesday (7 September).

    Ellwood stressed that the problem was not with the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, but with the Treasury.

    “Obviously, all nuclear reactors are complex and there should be no short cuts to their procurement, but this is not about design approval; it is about the political will. [RR] 🇬🇧
