Dean Morgan, bollocks, wth 1000 people crossing the Channel daily ILLEGALLY and there is shortage of labour force? That's because those who crossing illegally are sent by the government straight to social benefit, and once given freebies, none of those people intend to work, ever.

There are not shortages there are poor wages and lucrative benefits. Raise the wages, have the shareholders take less profits and see how quickly the "shortage" disappears.

No she should not. It a fact we have too many people who need to go to work and don't as the system pays them more not to. A fair days pay is what's need that equals benefits.

Do away with the 16 hours people can work and still claim benefits. Employers have to find 3 workers to cover a basic week.

I thought that you get what you put in, your parents and theirs paid taxes into the pot and your children and grandchildren could be looked after, now it`s not racist to be concerned for your family, so why do we give immigrants money, when this country cannot afford this, and free health care, paid for by others gone, these people are not advised on health matters? these people do not want to do hard working jobs, we are not having children, but they are, we older people are not paying for their lavish lifestyles, leave it out! they are eating us out of house and home and will not work for it, the answer is make the British older people pay for them?? while they choose jobs that requires only a dress and a backside??

Yes yes , YES ! It is the responsibility of the government to upskill the unemployed before looking abroad .
If we have children in our homes we teach (train ) them to suit our needs , NOT GET A NEW CHILD FROM ADIFFERENT COUNTRY . Using a child as a metaphor.
The rich don't want to teach there own , they want cheap from somewhere else . 4 to A room . Where Brits need to cover costs of running a home and family .
Truss is another Tory idiot who is nieve not to think eventually these immigrants WILL bring there families over and take advantages of the state .

It’s absolute arrogance to “bring the best and brightest” while other countries are having similar issues with staffing. We need to stop this poaching. The elephant in the room is not all qualifications are equal and are seldom cross reference for competence, skills and knowledge. But nobody talks about this.
We need to focus on training and education to provide adequate staff and provide better working pay and conditions. And give more incentive to get people off benefits.

Zia Yusuf delivers a scathing critique of both the Conservative and Labour parties, accusing them of failing the British public on immigration and foreign aid. In this explosive segment, the Reform UK Home Affairs spokesperson claims the country has experienced “the biggest wave of untrammelled mass immigration ever seen,” placing the blame squarely on successive governments.

Yusuf outlines why Reform UK is launching a new inquiry into what he calls the “Boriswave,” arguing that border policies under recent leadership have left the UK exposed. He raises concerns about public safety, national priorities, and whether the current system is truly serving the interests of the British people.

In this week’s Chopper’s Political Podcast, Christopher Hope is joined by Tom Harwood and Katherine Forster to examine the growing debate around the UK state pension and the “triple lock.”

With Reform UK now joining other major parties in backing the policy, the discussion explores why the triple lock remains politically untouchable, despite rising concerns over its long-term cost. The panel breaks down how the system works, why it was introduced, and how it has helped reduce pensioner poverty, while also raising questions about fairness between generations.

They also look at the mounting financial pressures facing the UK, including the rising cost of pensions, slow economic growth, and an ageing population. Could the triple lock become unsustainable in the future? And if so, what alternatives might be considered?
