Coronavirus: UK government announces drastic measures to tackle outbreak – BBC News

Published

on

As the pandemic of Coronavirus claims more lives around the world, the people of the United Kingdom are now being advised to make drastic changes to their day-to-day existence.

The Prime Minister Boris Johnson rejected criticism that his government had been slow to respond to the scale of the crisis.

Mr Johnson said now was the moment to stop all non-essential contact with other people and to avoid all non-essential travel.

The over 70s, pregnant women and those with underlying health conditions need to be particularly vigilant.

Entire families must self-isolate for 14 days if just one member has a persistent new cough or a high temperature.

From this weekend those with the most serious health conditions should be isolated from social contact for 12 weeks

Today’s announcement marks a significant shift from the UK government’s position last week. Minutes before the news conference took place the World Health Organization called for stronger measures than the UK and some other countries were taking.

Officials are now convinced that the UK is on the verge of a major upswing in cases and there are genuine concerns about the impact on the National Health Service.

Huw Edwards presents tonight’s BBC News at Ten and unravels the day’s events with the BBC’s health editor Hugh Pym and medical correspondent Fergus Walsh.

TO ALL THE GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATIVES IN THE WORLD
What … what will happen to you in a few months is inevitable and its intensity will surpass all the action movie scenarios that have been made on earth … your emotions will expel excrement and your mental state will force you to bite off your own tongues … all these moments which you enjoyed on earth as a substitute for a human will pass in a fraction of a second … then there will only be eternal fear … you like to shine, so you will not only be spectators in the front row of this shocking event, but you will play the main, maybe even Oscar-winning roles in it … Good luck…

These New readers know they are lying to the Public. Don't forget them when the "Treason" trials start.
In the 2017 to 2018 winter period, there were an estimated 50,100 excess winter deaths in England and Wales. Why weren't we told to wear masks? U.N. has warned an estimated 130 million people will be thrown into poverty and possible starvation due to the economic effects of the lock downs. Suicides are increasing. Children's mental health has suffered. 30,000 cancer patients will die due to lack of care. I could go on but whats the point. You are obsessing on 41,000 deaths. When doctors are told to put covid on the death certificate, no matter what they die of, DNR notices given to ambulance staff. 25,000 old people with covid shipped into the old people's homes and paid for the pleasure. This led to the majority of recorded deaths. At what point do you put aside your hysteria and realise that your actions and the collective, by virtue signalling and the nervous desire to fit in, are condoning the destruction of the economy. I will ask you again in a years time when we are in food queues, run by Marxism, you've lost your house and your job. Will you still want to abuse little kids with your bacteria sodden masks?

The diseases which kill you when you've got AIDS are ones which are around us all the time; they can only harm you when the immune system is not working. Maybe coronavirus has always been around us and what is causing the "pandemic" is something that has universally impaired people's immunity. Now the government is planning on spending billions of pounds looking for a vaccine rather than investigating what might have impaired immunity. This stinks of the corruption of people in power getting massive bungs from the drugs companies and the tax payer footing the bill. Also the paranoid powerphiles of parliament are clearly using the "pandemic" as an excuse to impose draconian restrictions on people's freedom in a way that should otherwise be inequitable.

I am see echos of the past, world war 1 in particular The General Haig's military campaigns, whereby 100 of thousands of British and commonwealth soldiers were sacrificed in a vain attempt to win over the Bosh. He sent in wave after wave of soldiers over years, ill equipped to handle the use of german machine gunners as he was using cavalry and infantry from a bygone era. For this he was houered and given medals. Truly pathetic Remember this.

US hits ‘dozens’ of Iranian sites in strikes, as Iran targets US bases in region | BBC News

Published

on

The US said it has hit “dozens” of Iranian military targets in overnight attacks, in response to Iran hitting commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

The military said it struck “air-defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats”, using aircraft, ships, and drones – including “one-way attack sea drones for the first time”.

“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade,” the US military said. “Iran does not control it”.

In response, Iran said it targeted US bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait and also radar systems in Oman.

Trump demands 20% toll on cargos passing through strait of Hormuz | BBC News

Published

on

President Donald Trump has said the US is reinstating a naval blockade of Iranian ports and will impose a 20% charge on all cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz following days of escalating strikes between the two countries.

He said this would stop “Iran’s ships or customers” from entering or leaving the key oil shipping route, but “all other countries will have fair and open use of the Strait”.

Iran’s foreign minister later said whoever provides safe passage “should be compensated for this service”, but Iran would remain the strait’s “GUARDIAN” – using Trump’s word.

Tehran and Washington clashed over the strait’s control after exchanging strikes in the region overnight and on Monday.

The US said it carried out strikes against military targets in Iran, targeting air defence systems, coastal radars, and missile and drone sites. Iran said it responded by striking US military bases in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, and radars in Oman.

New explosions near Iranian port cities, says state media | BBC News

Explosions have been heard near two Iranian port cities, Bandar Abbas and Bushehr, state media has reported.

It comes after another night of strikes between the US and Iran, with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps saying it hit two UAE tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and targeted US facilities in Jordan and Bahrain.

The UAE called the attack “brazen”, adding that an Indian crew member was killed and eight others were injured.

Meanwhile, the US military says it completed strikes on targets aimed at degrading “Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping” – Iranian state media reports three people were killed.

US launches more strikes on Iran and resumes naval blockade of ports | BBC News

Published

on

The US military said it was carrying out a new wave of strikes on targets in Iran. It said the aim of the attacks was to degrade Iran’s ability to attack shipping in the strait of Hormuz. It came ass the US Navy resumed its blockade of Iran’s ports.

Iran said that control of the strait of Hormuz was required for its national security and it will exercise sovereignty over the key shipping lane, whatever the cost.

President Trump announced that he was scrapping a plan he had announced a day earlier, for placing a 20% toll or tariff on all cargos passing through the strait of Hormuz.
