Civilians flee homes in Democratic Republic of Congo as M23 rebel group advance – BBC News
Civilians in Democratic Republic of Congo are fleeing their homes near the eastern city of Goma, amid fears that the M23 rebel group are advancing.
There are reports that the Congolese army has been fighting the militia near the town of Sake.
Tens of thousands of people have been displaced in recent months after the Tutsi-led rebels launched an offensive.
Ten years ago the same group was chased out of eastern DR Congo into Uganda and Rwanda.Rwanda’s government has been accused of supporting the M23, but it denies it.
Rwanda has for many years criticised the Congolese authorities for failing to disarm Hutu rebels – some of whom were linked to the Rwandan genocide.

US President Donald Trump wants to bring down fuel prices for Americans. One way he’s trying to do it is by reopening the door to Russian energy, reversing a policy designed to deprive Russian President Vladimir Putin of money for his war in Ukraine.
The shift comes as relations between Trump and Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky have deteriorated dramatically. Trump has blamed Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries for contributing to the global diesel shortage, while Ukraine says those refineries are a crucial source of revenue for Russia’s war machine.
So, is American angst about fuel prices changing Trump’s approach to the war? And would importing Russian diesel even make a meaningful difference to US prices?

Yemen’s Houthis have warned aviation firms and passengers against using Saudi airports and airspace, after 12 people were killed in an attack on the international airport in Riyadh.
More than 300 were injured in Saturday’s attack on King Khalid International Airport in Saudi Arabia.
The Houthi statement on Sunday did not directly refer to Saturday’s attack, but previously did say they were behind separate strikes on the same airport on Thursday.
Four Saudis, two people from Bangladesh and one person each from the US, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Sudan and Egypt were killed, the Saudi civil aviation authority said.

Police in London need to move away from criminalising women involved in street sex work in the wake of the disastrous murder case of Simon Levy, officers have told the BBC.
Levy, a convicted sex offender, was left to kill two women and rape another – all of whom were vulnerable and sometimes engaged in street sex work – due to a series of failings, including by the Metropolitan Police.
The BBC was given access to the Met’s new two-officer female team in north London, created in a bid to engage with street sex workers, improve trust, and encourage them to report crimes committed against them.
The team described hearing about endemic levels of male violence against the women they have met.

Four people, including a teacher and children aged 5, 8 and 11, have been killed in a shooting at an elementary school in the US state of Oregon, local police say.
The suspected attacker, a 16-year-old boy, forced his way into the school by firing at locked doors. He was also killed in the shooting.
Emergency services in the city of Bend responded after receiving a call that an armed person had fired at a car before he was seen going into the Silver Rail Elementary School with a long gun.
The suspect was shot dead by an armed member of the community who followed the suspect inside the school, police say.

How about Congo integrated Tutu labels who left Rwanda after commiting genocide against Tutsi and continued the same business in Congo killing and misplacing Tutsis of Congo origin leading to formation of M23?

It turned out people are fleeing because of the Congolese government soldiers caused unnecessary chaos by shooting in the villages and villagers were forced to flee. But 7 of those soldiers have been sentenced to death.

Forget about all you have been told. The reality is simple! It is all about minerals!! Minerals that are in your phones, electric cars, strategic minerals used in all kind of technologies you are not even aware of! If there were no minerals there will be no war. Rwanda is being used by the west to destabilise the Congo so that they can have cheap access to minerals. The country is rich in minerals and since westerners set foot there there has always been killings.

The DRC government must look for support from Russia , so that we have a duplicate of Alappo or Idlib in syria all the towns they are capturing must be bombed to the ground to remove cover before engaging them.

The M23 l, whom are being called rebels in this video, are fighting for a just cause. Their ethnic group has been persecuted for dozens of years and excluded from state affairs. They are putting their foot down and requesting the DRC government sits with them to find solutions to their issues.

Congo lots of Gold and Cobalt. Investors have a crazy demand of Gold as Fiat currency is becoming useless and digital. Cobalt needed as the world shuns Russian gas, and we want to be carbon free and clean. Just not for Africa.
