AI takes centre stage at CES in Las Vegas | BBC News
The biggest tech companies in the world are descending on Las Vegas for one of the largest conventions of the year.
At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), many of the exhibits feature the latest innovations around artificial intelligence (AI).
They include smart mirrors, toothbrushes and grills.

Ukraine will resume strikes on Russian oil refineries, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said, as he accused the US of withdrawing crucial support.
He also accused the US of withdrawing intelligence-sharing on Russian strikes, and said restrictions to Starlink satellite services used by Ukraine’s military were deliberate.
Ukraine’s military relies on US early-warning alerts of incoming Russian aerial attacks to mount air defences, limiting successful strikes, while Starlink internet links are used throughout its war effort to guide drones and protect its skies.
But on Tuesday night, Starlink suddenly and unexpectedly restricted the speed at which drones could fly while still maintaining internet connection. This disrupted some battlefield “missions”, a top Ukrainian official said, and hampered Kyiv’s ability to protect itself from incoming Russian attacks.
Elon Musk, whose Space X company operates Starlink, suggested that the US government may have been behind the restrictions, adding that Starshield, the military-grade sister service to Starlink, is controlled by the US government, and “any limits on speed or usage are decided by the US military and ultimately [the US president]”.
The US government has not commented.

What we know about Asos hack as more personal details taken than previously revealed | BBC News
Asos has told its customers that hackers are in possession of detailed profiles of potentially millions of the online store’s users.
It issued the update after BBC News told the retailer it had been contacted by cyber criminals who said this week’s breach went beyond the “basic contact details” Asos previously said might have been accessed.
Names, addresses, phone numbers, emails and customer numbers are now in the hands of cyber criminals.
With this information, scammers may be able to craft potent phishing attack emails or phone calls.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed he backs an energy ceasefire with Russia, which was announced by US President Donald Trump.
Zelensky says he is “awaiting details from the American side”, while Russia and Vladimir Putin are yet to comment.
The energy ceasefire was first announced in a post by Trump, after his previous calls for Ukraine to stop attacking Russian oil refineries.

As he said 2 years ago the metaverse – oops did not really happen, before that 5g oops neither has that – i have a 5g phone and carrier and only ever got a 5g signal on my phone once (did a speed test & no different than 4g). In short i love tech & advances but cynical on the hypes…….

I have an expensive fancy smart washing machine but it doesn't rinse well the clothes so I have to manualy turn on the rinse program 2 more times. That means that I must be around the machine every time I use it. On top of all for the temperature I can choose only between 20, 40, 60, and 90°. There is no 30° or 50°. And on top of that when my child turn off the machine because fe likes to play with the fancy colorful buttons I must start the program from the begining.
