Ukraine invasion fears grow as Russian troops mass on border – BBC News

Published

on

Russia has for weeks been massing troops and tanks on the Ukrainian border. Ukraine has said it fears an invasion and along with Poland and Lithuania is calling for more western sanctions against Russia.

A joint statement by the countries accuses Russia of aggression and urges NATO to take action.

Russia denies that it is preparing an invasion and in turn accuses the West of threatening Russia’s security through NATO expansion.

Reeta Chakrabarti presents BBC News at Ten reporting by Moscow correspondent Steve Rosenberg.

Russia's military exercises are conducted on its territory, the territory of its state. It is Britain, the USA and other countries that have placed in various countries, which are clearly not their own, multiple weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear weapons, some of which have been moved kilometres away from the Russian border.
Let us not confuse things, let alone intentionally misinform, ideologically and perversely deforming gnoseological reality, with onanistic and gregarious fanaticisms, post-modern and neo-liberal collective egoisms, mere absurd and imperialistic vulgarities. This has nothing to do with whether Russia or the US likes it or not, but with the exercise of international law and reason. For example, the USA, in the 80s, from its own Congress, came out to acknowledge in various reports, loudly and publicly, the interference it carried out in coups, political and social destabilisations, and the long list of economic boycotts that led to civil-military dictatorships and huge violations of human rights in most Latin American countries (and the world) even more so, years ago, not many the truth, in Colin Powell's time as US Secretary of Defence, he used the trickery and intentional lie that his intelligence system had information about weapons of mass destruction, which resulted in his unilateral invasion of a sovereign state like Iraq, going beyond international law and all the UN resolutions, believing himself to be the sheriff or neighbourhood bully on the planet, and bringing with him a displacement, a forced human migration, a displacement of the people, and the destruction of the world, a displacement, a forced human migration of millions of people, together with thousands of innocent civilians brutally murdered by the USA, and carrying out this Anglo-Saxon country together with NATO a genocide in a systematic way with this people, by establishing its troops in this place for many years, establishing bases to extend its imperialist geopolitical and geostrategic domination, given the interests of extending its territory and influence, its military bases (the country with the most bases in the world), geo-strategic proximity to Russia, and to stop the passage of key maritime trade routes for the development of China and Russia, a situation guaranteed by international law, which NATO does not respect, thus defending the invention of the State of Israel, and generating these Western countries, predators of resources that are not theirs, the exploitation of legal resources in an illegal way in these places. The same horrible and deplorable situation was realised by all European countries in their turn (let's apply the theory of imperialism, dependency theory, etc.) especially Great Britain, Netherlands, Germany, France, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Russia, Austria, etc. with the colonialism, brutal exercise on the continent and peoples of America, Africa, Middle East, Southeast Asia and Polynesia.
The current conflict between NATO and Russia is due to the fact that after the creation of NATO in 1949, together with the State of Israel, the UN and the Commonwealth (synarchy), given the nuclear power proven that year by the former USSR, its creation (that of NATO) is a justification in terms of politically and militarily slowing down the advance of real socialism to the liberal capitalist countries that triumphed against the fascist and Nazi autarchic state capitalism, However, in 1991 with the fall of the former USSR, and the new scenario with the fragmentation of the former socialist bloc, NATO and its murderous, imperialist and violent ethos or identity commanded by the British synarchy anchored in London, capital of the pirates, where gold is traded and key decisions are taken at world level, has no justification. Moreover, NATO was unwilling to sign any document guaranteeing that it would not approach the Russian borders of this nascent Federation, because they want to divide and divide it up. Modern English pirates have had two competitions, one the French Catholic monarchy, which was swept away by the bourgeoisie and Freemasonry in 1789 in the French bourgeois revolution, and from there by creating the USA in 1776, outsourcing its power, extending it like the Roman motto of expand or die, and then in 1917 they also removed the Romanovs with the stroke of a pen in order to become the only world dictatorship imposing a dictatorial and cynical international rule of law, a dictatorship of transnational finance capital and a world military power to subjugate the world by the hand of NATO. The point is that the Anglo-Saxons and Western Europeans did not comply and have already approached Russia in five waves, while Russia has no missiles in Cuba, Mexico, Canada or Venezuela. American moral double standards.

  34. @DanielKolbin

    January 17, 2024 at 2:46 am

Why can’t we just be friends? The West must stop overreacting. Both sides must stop radicalizing each other. Russia is not the enemy. If a war happens, it’s because the US asked for it. The West has expanded and invaded more than Russia. USA is not the protagonist (anymore).
Come on. No moral one wants WW3.

This is exactly NATO’s fault for letting Ukraine think that it can join NATO when there is no chance if that ever happening. Russia has repeatedly warned NATO about this and now it is ready to bring the war to west if this red line is crossed. We know that Kremlin is planning to attack Ukraine and it will do so because US won’t back down from this useless adventure. God help us all. It is always the poor who get caught in the middle
