    Turkey was forecast at 48deg but when my son used to go there on holiday in the 90s he said it used to reach as much as 54deg at midday. She said people all over the world are protesting so how many are in China that's part of the world. Young people are scared for their future because of people like her and her bull also did you notice the ear pieces, plastic made from oil.

    'It's 48 degrees in Pakistan' Then go and bloody well protest in Pakistan! Hop on a noce eco friendly fleet of canoes and paddle over to Asia and start a revolution in a country where it will actually matter. And for the love of all, stop comparing yourselves to the Sufragette movement. They fought for realistic change that wasn't being worked towards. Zero emission is being worked towards, but it can't happen overnight without the global economy collapsing.

    These protesters are complaining about how this affects everyone while they disrupt people every time they go protest in the middle of the street, blocking ambulances, stopping people from reaching funerals, schools and workplaces.

    Go protest in Pakistan or Africa or in a country that is NOT working towards the zero emission goal. Try and change their minds. People have stood by their beliefs and been killed for them in the past, so don't compare yourself to these brave souls just because you like to disrupt regular people's lives to preach not to use oil, decked out in oil based clothing and using oil based signage!

    They need to realise if the choice is a cleaner planet in the future, at the cost of living affordability now, then to paraphrase Paul Keating(Australian ex prime minister) you can bet on self interest

    I think the most likely outcome of this is not what the protesters want. Given our politics is completely broken, and governments are clamping down on rights and freedoms, I think these protests are most likely to lead to further authoritarianism.

    We can only sort climate change after sorting politics in general, and there are no signs this is even possible. We only react in crises. Sad but true. Look at covid.

    So i have a question to those stop oil looneys, how exactly does OIL change climate? is she saying that global warming is because of oil? is she mad or something? global warming is happening because HEAT doesn't escape the atmosphere fast enough and it starts to pile up under the atmosphere, it doesn't matter where this heat is coming from … it makes absolutely no difference if you are heating with fossil fuels or electric, heat is heat.

    stopping oil will not make earth cool down .. how dumb is she? pollution is another thing, but that's called eco-system, trees will clean the air. they have no idea that 1 diesel truck made in 90s or before, put out more pollution than 100 modern trucks!
    this pollution is being fought every signle day, by coming up with new and greener ways to run things.

    but those looneys only see a car and think it will pollute … sure it does, but far less than older cars. you may have more cars now than in 90s, but pollution levels are lower, because cars are optimized. that's why the technical inspection includes a test where they check that your exhaust system is working as it should.

    so stopping oil, will not prevent global warming .. she's absolutely mad, she has no idea what even causes global warming.
