Wishing everyone a happy and prosperous Chinese New Year. 新年快乐,万事如意,心想事成。

The Chinese New Year we are celebrating here was based and originated from the Chinese Nong Li (农历) Calender and the 12 Chinese Zodiac Animals (中国十二生肖 – 鼠,牛,虎,兔,龙,蛇,马,羊,猴,鸡,狗,猪)This year is Gui Mao Nian – Rabbit (癸卯年-兔) In ancient time much of the neighbouring countries like Japan, Korea and Vietnam have been heavily influenced by the Chinese Culture hence they also celebrate these festivals as well. It is liken to eating Chinese delicacies doesn't turns one into a Chinese but still you are most welcome to enjoy the food as you like nevertheless. Its still Chinese delicacies. So coming back to the topic its still Chinese New Year as it follows the Chinese Nong Li Calender. Not exactly Lunar but partically. Or Luna-Solar, if you really got to split hairs on this one. Because it derived from BOTH the Sun and the Moon. Only Muslim follows the so called "Lunar" Calender. Please trust us, we know our own traditions better than those who doesn't celebrate our culture nor traditions. Thank you for listening.

The XXB.1.5 is spreading across the US accounting for more than 80% of Covid-19 infection. Covid-19 related daily deaths exceeds 500 or 15,000 per month. Canada's initial XBB.1.5 infection was only 2% 2 weeks ago now has gone up to >40%. Britain most likely suffers far worse Covid-19 deaths because the entire health system has collapsed due to strikes.

I'm surprised so many people don't know that the lunar calendar is calculated by looking at the moon, it's a very imprecise calendar, and if you celebrate a lunar new year, one day you'll be celebrating the new year in the summer.

Nobody seems to have grasped, or addressed the fact, that a VERY large part of China’s commercial success is due to unfair/illegal trading practices. For years the Chinese government has subsidised, or paid in full, the postage costs of all the dangerous crap they sell to us!

Ask yourself, if you lived for instance in the U.K. and sold something for 99p (1$) how could you afford to ship it to anywhere within the U.K. – never mind to another part of the planet – free postage?!?!

Ukraine’s new weapon that could change the war with Russia | The Security Brief

For the first time, a ballistic missile designed and built in Ukraine, with enough range to reach Moscow, is in the final phase of development – and President Zelensky has demanded it be ready this autumn.

The head of the company behind the weapon, Fire Point CEO Iryna Terekh, tells The Security Brief how it works, what it will be targeting, and how Ukraine has adapted to lead its fight against Russia.

Six killed in attacks across Ukraine | BBC News

Published

on

At least 600,000 people in Ukraine are without electricity after deadly overnight Russian missile and drone strikes, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.

For the second night, Ukraine received no early warning from its partners that an attack was imminent, he added.

At least six people were killed in the strikes, and 21 injured, and officials said that access to the Starlink communications system was restricted overnight.

The attacks come after US President Donald Trump’s claim on Sunday that an “energy ceasefire” was in place between Russia and Ukraine.

Ukraine was just hit. Did the US know it was coming? | BBC News

Has the US reduced the amount of intelligence it shares with Ukraine? That’s the accusation from President Zelensky, after a second consecutive night of Russian missile strikes – that hit targets in Ukraine without any advance warning from allied-intelligence.

At the same time, Ukraine has accused Elon Musk’s Starlink of imposing restrictions on the speed at which some of Ukraine’s weapons can travel and stay connected to the Starlink internet network. It’s caused disruption Ukraine’s ‘battlefield missions’, according to the government.

Ukraine’s frontline ‘stabilised’, former army general claims | BBC News

Published

on

Ukraine has stabilised the frontline as Russian forces have suffered too many losses to advance, Oleksandr Syrskyi, Kyiv’s former commander-in-chief has claimed in an exclusive interview with the BBC.

General Syrskyi was in charge of the Ukrainian army until his tense relations with the defence minister Mykhailo Fedorov forced President Zelensky to dismiss them both last summer.

In his first interview since his sacking, general Syrskyi told the BBC’s Abdujalil Abdurasulov how in his view Ukraine is containing more powerful Russian forces, why military success is key to reach a peace settlement and how new technologies are transforming the war.
