Rebel Wilson shot to fame as one of Hollywood’s top comedy actresses after appearing in the 2011 box-office hit Bridesmaids and the Pitch Perfect franchise.
In an exclusive interview, Rebel reflects on her decision to lose weight during her “year of health”, what it means to be the “funny fat girl” in Hollywood, and her own personal struggles with fertility.
Rebel is now a producer and director and has been named as one of the BBC’s 100 Women of 2021.

Americans are reacting to President Donald Trump’s escalating feud with Pope Leo XIV and the backlash surrounding an AI-generated image depicting the president as a Jesus-like figure, which has since been deleted.
On Monday, Trump posted a lengthy Truth Social message attacking the pontiff, who has been a vocal critic of the US and Israeli military operations in Iran.
He criticised the Pope, calling him “weak on crime” and “terrible for foreign policy”.
The Pope said on Monday that he has “no fear” of the Trump administration or “speaking out loudly of the message of the Gospel, which is what I believe I am here to do”.

US President Donald Trump said US-Iran talks could restart in Pakistan “in the next two days”, though Iran is yet to comment.
He also said the war is “very close to over”, in a preview of an interview released by Fox News.

As a person who became a mother earlier than expected (I was 22) and gained a lot of weight because I wasn't surrounded by people who were ever familiar with the disposition of pregnancy — It's so cool to see a "celebrity" lose weight for a positive reason. She didn't lose the weight to get a role etc. She did it for herself. I gained about 50 lbs over what a normal mother is supposed to gain during pregnancy. As a woman at 5'2, this was really hard for me to live with. But those hormones totally took over.
I couldn't walk like I used to —
my partner describes that time in my life as me "waddling."
I hated how I looked in the mirror obviously.
But one day I just said to myself NO. I'm NOT going to look like this for the rest of my life.
There was a time before then where I couldn't eat much due to being poor, and I decided to just re-do that "diet" to get myself back to close to my pre pregnancy weight. I went from 177 to 135 in 7 months of intermittent fasting. No exercise. Nothing else. But I had to almost what felt like starve myself.
I am 29 about to be 30 in 2 weeks, and I stress my age because extreme intermittent fasting is dangerous for a lot of normal folks. But it worked for me. And I am so grateful to be 130 today, 127 on a really good day at the doctor, lol.
