Russian forces withdraw from key Ukrainian city Kharkiv – BBC News
Ukraine has “likely won the battle of Kharkiv”, according to think-tank the Institute for the Study of War.
Military analysts say Russia was prevented from encircling Ukraine’s second city – and has now given up on attempts to do so.
Since the start of the invasion, capturing it has been a key strategic aim of Russian forces.
“There was no shelling in the city for the last five days,” the mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, told the BBC.
“Now it is calm in Kharkiv and people are gradually coming back to the city.”

Floods have hit Australia’s largest city Sydney for the third time this year prompting evacuation warnings to 50,000 people.
Parts of Sydney have received about eight months of rain in four days.
Roads have been cut off, some houses are under water and thousands have been left without power.

Saudia Arabia vows ‘serious response’ to Houthi attacks and other stories | Global News Podcast
The Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen have continued to fire missiles towards Saudi Arabia, after a number of deadly attacks on Riyadh’s main international airport.
Almost all flights to and from the airport have been suspended. The Houthis say their actions are in retaliation for “brutal Saudi aggression” against areas they control in western Yemen.
Saudi Arabia’s energy minister Prince Abdul Aziz bin Salman told a conference in Riyadh that the seriousness of the attacks required an equally serious response from the Kingdom.

The Russians deny they have targeted civilians !.! They are helping them demolish old apartments so there will be room for new ones! And when they shoot a human being they are targeting possible military replacements. Or they we're shooting at a piece of military hardware like a car, or buttons and zippers it could be used to repair military uniforms and equipment. , OF COURSE THEY WOULD NEVER SHOOT AT A CIVILIAN!
