Gaza: Why is Rafah crossing so important? BBC News
Today, we discuss China’s £14.7bn investment into AI and robotics in the hopes of overtaking the US as the world leader in innovation.
China has two million robots already working in factories, and is investing heavily in the hopes that one day they could bridge gaps in an already sluggish economy. What can these robots do? And what does the future look like for workers? Our China correspondent Laura Bicker has been to some of these factories, and is on the line to debrief.
Plus, the government has announced more details about their housing plans, including where 70,000 social and affordable homes will be built in England over the next 10 years. 60% of the new homes would be for social rent, despite Andy Burnham telling The Social Housing Podcast in May he “would actually devote all of it to social housing.”.

China has vowed to protect its interests after the US announced plans to widen economic sanctions against Iran and its trading partners, which include Beijing.
Foreign ministry spokesman Lin Jian said China was firmly opposed to what it called “illegal unilateral sanctions” and would take “all necessary measures” to safeguard its rights.
US President Donald Trump has said that the US Navy has removed or detonated all mines in the Strait of Hormuz.

It has been five years since the Taliban retook control of Afghanistan, as western forces left, imposing their extreme, ultra-conservative interpretation of Islam on millions of people.
Their return to power brought relative peace to the country after two decades of war.
But Afghan women have been erased from public life. Girls are banned from school from the age of 12, and aren’t allowed to go to university.
Public parks are also off limits to women – and they can’t travel abroad without a male companion.

I hope that UN sends peace keepers. Investigate who brook the last ceasefire and why those kids were killed. If Israel used white phosphorus? Was the purpose of this attack to punish Palestinians to revolt against Hamas? Does this amount to collective punishment?
Does hamas has any thing to do with the kidnapping of those 3 Israelis or Israeli politicians made up the excuse to attack Palestinians .
Why the blockade has been going on for 7-8 years. Clearly hamas is able to make those rockets on their own so is it to punish palastinians who demand their land and see and gas field that Israel is taking over.
