British fighters in Ukraine share footage of the frontline with BBC Newsnight
There’s no doubt Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, nearly one year ago, stirred up strong feelings in this country. But how many Britons felt so strongly that they actually went to fight there?
Thousands of foreign volunteers are fighting for Ukraine, evidently taking big risks, among them a UK contingent.
Eight British fighters and aid workers have been killed there since last February, and others badly injured.
The BBC’s Emma Vardy has been given exclusive access for Newsnight to a unit who’ve spent months filming their experiences on the frontlines, and to family members back in the UK.

Saudi Arabia has said three people have been killed after the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen attacked Riyadh airport on Thursday.
It’s the latest in series of attacks on airports across the country, as the conflict escalates between Saudi-supported Yemeni government forces and the Houthis.
Elsewhere a US Treasury official has told the BBC that economic pressure from America has Tehran ‘on its knees’, and they hope the tactic will end the current regime in Iran.
Meanwhile Iran’s president has said his country will not walk away from peace negotiations, despite threats from the United States.

Booker prize winner Margaret Atwood describes herself as an “observer,” but in her many novels she has often offered us a portal to understanding, be it about totalitarianism, or the idea of other forms of life, future and past.
In her latest book, Old Babes in the Woods, she navigates death and the loss of loved ones, in short stories which are both acerbic and hilarious, as well as adding to her fantastical oeuvre, such as an octopus-like creature narrating its own interpretation of a folk tale.
Seven of the stories feature the characters Tig and Nell, a thinly-veiled portrayal of Atwood and her long-life partner Graeme Gibson who died four years ago. Margaret Atwood began her interview with Kirsty Wark with a reading from the darkly funny story, Widows.

The former leader of the Democratic Unionist Party, Jeffrey Donaldson, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for a series of child sex offences, including rape.
Donaldson was convicted in June of 18 offences, which he committed against two women when they were children, between 1985 and 2008.
Reading victim statements, the sentencing judge said one woman grew up feeling ashamed, while the other said: “every day I pray God will let me die”.

Pretty good stuff, I just realized that Mario updated his favorite way to tackle ED and it's crazy! Although what he previously talked about was pretty decent, it was difficult to follow, I just go'ogled the latest in Mario's Thunderous Erections, it's so much simpler and potent now!

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Americans vowed not to expand an inch to the East. Instead, today NATO is a few kilometers from Moscow and British military forces are inside the Soviet Union (Ukraine) killing Russians. Don't think the British really took it too far?

As much as I admire their courage to fight with people and a country they don’t know, the volunteers without military experiences are simply cannon fodder. Ukraine need experienced soldiers. Quality is what’s needed.
