Someone gave me a sticky date pudding but no sauce. I copied your sauce Gordon & it was a real hit with my friend & my wife for dinner. Thanks so much. The other day I copied your way of cooking "the perfect steak" …bringing it to room temp adding in the butter in the last 30 secs & letting it rest …..it comes up a treat every time. I like your "getting straight into it" recipes

For Americans:
Treacle is Dark Molasses.
Golden Syrup there is no equivalent in the US. It is a light form of molasses with a sligt vanilla taste.
Lyle's Golden Syrup can be purchased at some Walmarts or in International Store online or in your city. Or you may be able find it in a British International Store.
