Uruguay’s President Jose Mujica says he has been offered $1m for his vintage Volkswagen Beetle. Mr Mujica, once dubbed “the poorest president in the world” because of his modest lifestyle, said the offer had come from an Arab sheikh. Ben Bland reports.

China has vowed to protect its interests after the US announced plans to widen economic sanctions against Iran and its trading partners, which include Beijing.

It has been five years since the Taliban retook control of Afghanistan, as western forces left, imposing their extreme, ultra-conservative interpretation of Islam on millions of people.
Their return to power brought relative peace to the country after two decades of war.
But Afghan women have been erased from public life. Girls are banned from school from the age of 12, and aren’t allowed to go to university.
Public parks are also off limits to women – and they can’t travel abroad without a male companion.

I think the richest people who are the leaders are the poorest. There reasons why corruption always comes by. José Mujica however, is the true definition of "people's president". Becuase he genuinely cares about his people and their county.
