    Well GPs are doing well – they are paid approximately £100k PA and still not seeing patients. Doctors at my surgery seem to have a whole glut of excuses. Not bad money for not doing your job. Peter Bottomley feels his salary of £82K not enough for MPs, but don’t worry about the poor people losing £20 per week who can’t feed their families! Excessive pay for weather presenters who earn well when they can’t get their predictions right – I wish I was in a job I could get so well rewarded for mistakes! Who is it said we are not in a high wage society?

    Surely the reduction in labour supply in general after brexit will promote wage growth in many areas.

    shame that re-training is not only expensive but the cost always seems to be put on the worker who wants to up-skill who often doesn't have that extra spare cash to invest in it
