At least 10 people have been killed in a strike outside a UN-run school housing Palestinians displaced by the Gaza conflict, medics say. The attack hit the entrance of the facility in Rafah, where thousands of Palestinians are said to be sheltering. Israel denies firing into the school but says it was targeting militants on a motorbike, as it continues its operation to destroy tunnels used by Hamas militants to infiltrate Israel.

In watching this I am reminded of a saying my grandfather used to use. "There are always three sides to every story. Their's, Your's, and the truth." The parts where both sides agree is wherein you find the truth. Both sides agree that loss of life is intolerable. Therein lies your truth. I feel for the Palestinians, just as much as I feel for the Israeli loss of life; that being said, to attack noncombatant innocent civilians and CHILDREN! There is NO excuse that one can provide to make that acceptable. Not America, not Russia, not North Korea, not Israel, not Palestine. Each and every child destroyed in violence around the world is one more heavy link in a chain of shame that all humankind must wear. Any child killed should turn the very stomach and bring every eye that witnesses such atrocities to moaning sobs of utter sorrow. If one's heart feels unmoved by the suffering of others, if one can not empathize with their fellow man in their hour of deepest despair they are simply unworthy of the title human.

The problem is that they call Hamas a terrorist, the accusation is always ready in any argument, while Israel is slaughtering people and do terrify people in the nastiest form. I don`t know , if this is not a crime then what  a crime is ??!!!

At least don`t defend Israel and give excuses for their crimes, just be thankful that this is not happening to you.,  I don`t think we are blind to that extent.

NOTE THAT IN THE MOST OF THE CASES THE " MISERABLE" PALESTINIANS ARE CHOOSING TO FILM THE WOUNDED INSTEAD OF GIVING THEM ANY HELP. 20 PHOTOGRPHERS AND ONE PARAMEDIC.
YOUR NETWORK KEEP ON REPORTING ABOUT "1,800 DEAD PALESTINIANS".
NONE OF THEM  IS A TERRORIST OR A TROOPER IN YOUR CASE?
    well done sky news!
your network is showing the true image of the conflict.
i wonder how your network will coverage this king of war if England were involved ,
    like in the early past…..
actually no wonder ,you were and will ever be anti-Semite.

Israel withdrew its occupying troops and settlers from Gaza in 2005, but maintains a full blockade of the territory, which has turned Gaza into what human rights organizations sometimes call an "open-air prison" and has pushed the unemployment rate up to 40 percent.

USA + Israel = 1800+ Palestinian deaths.. and counting.

looks like the bbc and the west are suddenly running scared with their fake concern because they finally realize that the general public are against Israel and they don't want to lose all the people they have suckered over the decades.

This video, and BBC's reporting in general is exactly what Hamas wants, EXACTLY. They are helping a terrorist organization with this video, and empowering the very people that need to be taken down in order for the Palestinians to be able to live normal lives and for the killing to stop.

The British government still fund and supply Israel
Its time all MPs who are members of the friends of Israel
To be removed as they must be in control of the
Government as this can be the only reason the government
Funds and supplies what other countries are calling the
    Terrorist state of israel

International sympathy and empathy for the Israeli people has been lost forever. No truce can repair or heal the international trust that has been squandered by Israel. The Jewish nation has come full circle from the Holocaust and concentrations camps of WWII. Israel has essentially made the Gaza Strip a open air prison, or better said a Palestinian ghetto. Even the Jews during the Nazi era rebelled during the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. The harsh punishment that Israel has exacted will come back to haunt them.

ISRAEL AND HAMAS are terrorist states!

    Perfect recipe for genocide.
    1) Lock em up and allow no border passing
    2) then look for an excuse to invade
    3) then claim that they are the ones who are killing themselves… while you pull the trigger and commit murder

this is in-humane. Anyone who respects life, even their own… anyone who claims to have any moral stance… cannot watch this without horror. Both sides are killing each other, and it must stop.

Brexit: MPs block Prime Minister’s bid for early election – BBC News

Published

on

The UK Prime Minister’s demand for an early General Election looks set to be rejected by Members of Parliament after opposition parties agreed it shouldn’t take place until after the European Union Summit in mid-October.

Labour, the Liberal Democrats, the Scottish National Party and Plaid Cymru the party of Wales say they won’t back the government’s bid for an election. They declared they wanted an extension to the Brexit date of October 31st to guarantee that the UK won’t leave the EU without a deal.

On a visit to Scotland, Mr Johnson accused them of making an “extraordinary political mistake”. It came as the House of Lords approved a bill to prevent a no-deal Brexit. It will get royal assent and become law on Monday.

Our Deputy Political Editor John Pienaar reports, Reeta Chakrabarti presents.

Brexit trade deal finally agreed – BBC News

Published

on

A post-Brexit trade deal has finally been agreed, four and a half years after the UK voted to leave the European Union.

The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said it would protect jobs and provide certainty for business.

After months of talks and frantic last-minute wrangling over fishing, negotiators finally reached agreement on Christmas Eve, with just a week to go before the deadline when the UK’s transition period was coming to an end.

The president of the European Commission, Ursula Von de Leyen, described it as a good and fair agreement.

Some business leaders said the agreement had come as a “huge relief”. However others — along with some British politicians — said they would wait to study the details of the agreement before reaching a judgement on it.

Sophie Raworth presents BBC News reporting by political editor Laura Kuenssberg, Europe editor Katya Adler, business editor Simon Jack, deputy political editor Vicki Young, James Cook in Glasgow, Tomos Morgan in Cardiff and Emma Vardy in Belfast.

Trump threatens to bomb Oman and demands Iran surrender | BBC News

Published

on

President Donald Trump has threatened to bomb Oman – a US ally – if it “gets in the way” of his administration’s own talks with Iran, Fox News reports.

The US and Oman have separately been negotiating with Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a waterway that is vital to the global economy. It has been largely closed for nearly six months during the US-Iran war.

The threat came after the 60-day Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two sides expired. The future of talks between the US and Iran is now unclear.
