Violence against women and girls in Iraq is widespread, but under reported, according to UN experts.
For incidents of sexual violence, there are no official figures. Human rights campaigners in the country say more needs to be done to protect women who speak out. They say threats and incitement against survivors should be investigated as crimes.
BBC Arabic’s Sally Nabil has been to Baghdad to speak to women who say family and social pressures discouraged them from speaking out, but have now decided to break their silence.

Floods have hit Australia’s largest city Sydney for the third time this year prompting evacuation warnings to 50,000 people.
Parts of Sydney have received about eight months of rain in four days.
Roads have been cut off, some houses are under water and thousands have been left without power.
Widespread flooding across Australia – driven by a La Niña weather pattern – has killed more than 20 people this year, many in New South Wales.

Saudia Arabia vows ‘serious response’ to Houthi attacks and other stories | Global News Podcast
The Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen have continued to fire missiles towards Saudi Arabia, after a number of deadly attacks on Riyadh’s main international airport.
Almost all flights to and from the airport have been suspended. The Houthis say their actions are in retaliation for “brutal Saudi aggression” against areas they control in western Yemen.
Saudi Arabia’s energy minister Prince Abdul Aziz bin Salman told a conference in Riyadh that the seriousness of the attacks required an equally serious response from the Kingdom.

This was great reporting by BBC of how people from different walks of life were living during the coronavirus situation. This is the type of news I like which I don't get to see on CNN since they are more focused on politicizing the virus and how the government is handling it.

It looks like there's a considerable number of commentators here who seem to ignore that BBC has an Arabic channel, like Russians' RT, Chinese CGTN, German DW, French FR24, and many more, I wouldn't be able to name all of them and this film was intended for the Arab viewers all over the world in the first place. I still believe British people are smarter and more civilised better than anywhere in the world. This film shows to the world how everyone in Britain is playing his/her part. Everyone is involved. I am proud to be British. Britain has always been open and multicultural for ages…! I wish that those racist haters realise that sometimes an immigrant fixes their home plumber, painter, carpenter, electrician, or anything else. Who drives them home who fixes their cars or their bikes who holds their kids and take care of them in nurseries who cares for them in hospitals, clinics and surgeries who pays taxes sometimes even more than those who are opening their mouths and relying on benefits. Imagine how life will be if all immigrants decide to stay at home for just one day. All immigrants from business managers and bank managers to the one who brings you your takeaway. Just imagine! A complete paralysis.

What was the point of focusing on the arabic-speaking community, instead of just the essential worker-community as a whole? With a report like this that is focusing on something so specific, I was expecting the BBC to mention how the arabic-speaking community is stronger affected by COVID due to their culture. But nope, the BBC would rather waste 7½ minutes of people's lives instead.
