Titanic sub: Safety concerns were raised about missing submersible – BBC News
A former employee of OceanGate – the company that operates the missing Titan submersible – warned of potential safety problems with the vessel as far back as 2018.
US court documents show that David Lochridge, the company’s Director of Marine Operations, had raised concerns in an inspection report.
The report “identified numerous issues that posed serious safety concerns”, according to the documents, including the way the hull had been tested.
A spokesman for OceanGate declined to comment on the safety issues raised.

‘Is Anthropic the new Dr Frankenstein?’ | BBC News
AI Decoded speaks to leading tech podcaster Scott Galloway about the growing controversy surrounding Anthropic’s latest AI model, Claude Mythos.
During testing, the system uncovered thousands of hidden vulnerabilities in the software underpinning most of the world’s computers — prompting Anthropic to decide it was too dangerous to release.
The company says Mythos can outperform humans at certain hacking and cyber‑security tasks, raising fresh concerns among regulators, lawmakers and financial institutions about the risks to global digital infrastructure.
Also on the show, we reveal how US students are changing their majors at university in order to ‘AI proof’ their future careers and how nearly half of Gen Z would like to turn back the clock to the late 90’s before AI was even a thing.
Joining Christian Fraser is the BBC’s AI correspondent Marc Cieslak and AI Decoded co-host Priya Lakhani.

No one should pay any operator of a vessel without the operator being trained and certified, nor board unapproved equipment on or in the water.

I love all of the Monday morning quarterbacks that come out AFTER a disaster like this. Good grief get real. Bottom line is that Stockton Rush was a greedy person who cared more about his reputation bringing people to the Titanic than he did protecting them from his flawed capsule.

6:40 No this is trying to convince the viewer that there’s submersibles tragedy has a meaningful difference vs the migrants. There’s not , their exist amazing footage that a Hollywood movie producer captured years ago on a ship that sank 100 years ago. The difference here is billionaires dying at sea versus peasants dying at sea.
