40 years ago at lake Tahoe, along with the minnow trap and usual fishing gear, I had a coffee can and a bundle of kindling wood. Snip the openings a little bigger, and get free live bait, and crayfish! Perched on a huge glacial rock the size of a bus, I would start a small fire, and boil crayfish for snacking in a coffee can. Put a live minnow on the hook with a sliding bobber. Cast it out, couple wraps around a big toe, then take a nap. The lake has huge trout called 'silversides'. Rainbow trout so big they lose their colors. 8 pounds plus was often. At the right morning time on the East shore, you could see a pair swirling around each other playing. Crystal clear, huge boulders and white sand. All illegal fishing tactics now. Eating those tails with a little salt and cayenne pepper will be a forever memory.

Invasive Species? I see free food for the masses… kind of like the Wild Pig and Asian Carp issue in America. Despite being issues they do provide meat on the table for those willing to go after them. Asian Carp literally leap into the boats sometimes because they're scared of the sound of motors.

I live in America and eat crawfish every single year when theyre in season and not once have i ever seen them that large. I dont know where the crawfish come from over there, but those cant be american crawfish, theyre like 3x bigger.
