Elon Musk and world leaders to attend AI safety summit at Bletchley Park, UK – BBC News

Published

on

Over the next two days, around 100 world leaders, tech bosses, academics and AI researchers are gathering at the UK’s Bletchley Park campus, once home to the codebreakers who helped secure victory during World War Two.

They will take part in discussions about how best to maximise the benefits of artificial intelligence – while minimising the risks.

International delegates include US Vice President Kamala Harris and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. China is also sending a representative.

There has been some criticism that the guest list is dominated by US giants including ChatGPT creator OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, Google and Amazon – as well as Tesla and X (formerly Twitter) owner Elon Musk. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will livestream a conversation with Mr Musk on X on Thursday evening.

Trustworthy AI depends upon accountability. Accountability presupposes transparency. Transparency reflects the extent to which information about an AI system and its outputs is available to individuals interacting with such a system – regardless of whether they are even aware that they are doing so. #IOTA #SMR 🦾🦾

Industrialization globalized the civilization enabled by agriculture. Computerization buffered the shock of
reaching the Earth’s limit. AI will allow sustainable development, helping R&D (including medicine &
education) or human tasks (including decision-making.) I wish humanity make appropriate AI utilization
policies, improving wealth production (including security) & distribution, plus human uplift & cooperation.

Interesting how there is the same percentage of intelligent people in all groupings except one…
left wing people are generally more intelligent than right wing people. Fact.
And the intelligent ones no matter their social classification transcend their social programming.
However the middle class is a social construct. It is indeed artificial intelligence and that is confirmed by the middle class being the management class
when clearly nepotism and glass ceilings [middle class code for class ceilings] are part of the dumbing down process.
So our species is being managed into the bottomless pit of species extinction. Now there's the danger.
The idea that the middle class knows best is a construct. It is artificial. Still eh? a fish doesn't know what it was in until it jumps out of it.

(Daniel 9:27 was fulfilled on August 13 2023 also when the woman began travailing in birth to fulfill the time of the gentiles for the mystery of Revelation 12 to be completed, Daniel 12:1 next, three riders released within 2020 and 2023. These words are true and worthy, he who has ears to hear let him hear, blessed is he who understands.)

“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?”

Gospel of Matthew, chapter 24, verse 3.

“And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.”

Gospel of Luke, chapter 21, verse 8 to 11.

“All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.”

Gospel of Matthew, chapter 24, verse 8 to 10.

“And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”

Gospel of Luke, chapter 21, verse 25 to 28.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

Gospel of John, chapter 3, verse 16 to 18.

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.”

First Corinthians, chapter 15, verse 3 to 6.

“Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.”

    Acts, chapter 8, verse 22.

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Gospel of John, chapter 3, verse 3.

“From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Gospel of Matthew, chapter 4, verse 17.

“After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.”

    Hosea, chapter 6, verse 2.

“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”

Second Peter, chapter 3, verse 8.

“knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”

Second Peter, chapter 3, verse 3 to 4.

“For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”

First Thessalonians chapter 5, verse 3.

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

First Thessalonians, chapter 4, verse 16 to 17.

“in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”

First Corinthians, chapter 15, verse 52.

“I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.”

Gospel of Luke, chapter 17, verse 34 to 36.

If the military can control drones remotely so can super computers close enough. Like burried in mountains near borders of adversaries like Russia or China. North Korea. You would put super computers in places like Finland or Sweden, South Korea as an example. Then make sure it's under a mountain. Some processes happens internal like normal and the rest is AI from the supercomputer . Full terrain napping image processing and control of large swarms using all sensors and cameras from all aircraft at once.

The super computer could learn better jamming and better ways to avoid being jammed.

Internally the system can go silent in an actual aircraft if jamming occurs and find it's way home via terrain napping. Auto self destruct. The AI can learn strategies of the human and how to counter them, react faster than a man and out calculate any man. All you need is a super computer. That doesn't have to move.

  24. @thebudman1980

    January 5, 2024 at 7:30 am

The last problems with AI can't be enforced. That's AI in aircraft because they would have to examine avionics that already use computers and we are not giving out aircraft secrets. Not all of that is AI. Seat for a person? AI optional, also hot swap ssd's is how you swap ao during inspection.

  25. @thebudman1980

    January 5, 2024 at 7:30 am

You may also come to the problem website filtering and censoring illegal content breaks down. Changed just enough the image and video recognition technologies quit functioning. And you can only go by reports and manual removals. Not automated removal. Like being exposed to harmful content on YouTube or any video or photo website.

The next trick if they go ny number of reports is to use bots against it so everything legit that should be there gets taken down. Dmca loves doing this so you don't consume as alternative content that makes them no money.

AI doesn't mean there is or isn't a human pilot. AI can assist or do all the work.

AI for further processing analysis can link to a super computer to control swarms. Super computer buried in a mountain.

If you can control the drone remotely so can something like summit.

  27. @thebudman1980

    January 5, 2024 at 7:30 am

Largest problem we will have the most soon is you can't use recordings most of the time to prove anything in court. On anyone government or civilians.

  28. @thebudman1980

    January 5, 2024 at 7:30 am

AI can go to the botnet. Rules? Not everyone is going to obey. Old photos and videos? Could be fake too to fake history to make money off historical items. Multiple tricks can be used. Analog the most difficult because they can go by tape degradation but a high resolution display and an analog camera fools you. Or it looks like digitized analog. Anything online from modern times will be easier to fake. Fraud and not being able to prove crimes happen is the biggest problem. Any flaw could be AI even though flaws happen with codecs anyway. Depending on how something is recorded.

Anyway the analog trick is to use analog to record a video made or changed with AI. They already faked the simpsons. So for cartoons AI can take that and make new without manually doing it in our future. They will claim. An unreleased this or that is worth cash. Could be fake. Especially if the company went out of business it's hard to prove that this wasn't unreleased images or footage.

Songs can be faked on any media old and new. Even wax rolling records. They overwrite them with new songs anyway. Even a record could be claimed to be unreleased. Never played. Only test. Destructive.

Of course you don't need ai to make a record of anything. Only to fake the music. Claim it was always in case. Case may be harder to fake. Can't use AI for that. Cardboard and proper ink.

US hits ‘dozens’ of Iranian sites in strikes, as Iran targets US bases in region | BBC News

Published

on

The US said it has hit “dozens” of Iranian military targets in overnight attacks, in response to Iran hitting commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

The military said it struck “air-defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats”, using aircraft, ships, and drones – including “one-way attack sea drones for the first time”.

“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade,” the US military said. “Iran does not control it”.

In response, Iran said it targeted US bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait and also radar systems in Oman.

Trump demands 20% toll on cargos passing through strait of Hormuz | BBC News

Published

on

President Donald Trump has said the US is reinstating a naval blockade of Iranian ports and will impose a 20% charge on all cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz following days of escalating strikes between the two countries.

He said this would stop “Iran’s ships or customers” from entering or leaving the key oil shipping route, but “all other countries will have fair and open use of the Strait”.

Iran’s foreign minister later said whoever provides safe passage “should be compensated for this service”, but Iran would remain the strait’s “GUARDIAN” – using Trump’s word.

Tehran and Washington clashed over the strait’s control after exchanging strikes in the region overnight and on Monday.

The US said it carried out strikes against military targets in Iran, targeting air defence systems, coastal radars, and missile and drone sites. Iran said it responded by striking US military bases in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, and radars in Oman.

US launches more strikes on Iran and resumes naval blockade of ports | BBC News

The US military said it was carrying out a new wave of strikes on targets in Iran. It said the aim of the attacks was to degrade Iran’s ability to attack shipping in the strait of Hormuz. It came ass the US Navy resumed its blockade of Iran’s ports.

Iran said that control of the strait of Hormuz was required for its national security and it will exercise sovereignty over the key shipping lane, whatever the cost.

President Trump announced that he was scrapping a plan he had announced a day earlier, for placing a 20% toll or tariff on all cargos passing through the strait of Hormuz.
