In 1983 -84 i was a nanni in Caracas. I loved it. One Canadian dollar was about 10 or 12 bolivars .The city was vibrant with many great restuarants and shops.I recall with ten bolivars I could buy a quart of mild bread and fruit. Their food was amazing. The family I worked for could fill their station wagon for less than a dollar. Back then the man in power was Lusingi. I was told that the politicains and police officers were the biggest crooks. In 1985 I moved to Caracas from. Canada. I lived in a Building called Parque Central. It was amazing. The subway system was and very clean. The building was self su fficient. It contained a mall on the first floor with restuarnts, book store hard ware store a bank, insurance company, suppermarke, a church, etc. I will not forget the soldiers at the elavator doors with machine guns. Any way It was a great city back then. The old Parque Central building caught fire many years ago. Sad to see that beautiful prosperous country in such ruins.Breaks my heart.

I know this doesn't have anything to do with the video, but I would like to share these questions and this message with as many people as possible.

    1. What do you think happens to someone after they die?
    2. Do you think there is an afterlife?
    3. If heaven exists, how do you get there?
    4. Would you be good enough to get into heaven?

Here are a few questions to see if you are a good person:

    1. How many lies have you told in your whole life?
    2. Have you ever stolen?
    3. Have you ever used God's name in vain?
    4. Jesus said that "whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart" (Matthew 5:28). Have you ever looked with lust?
    5. If you have broken any of these commandments, would you be innocent or guilty on Judgment Day?
    6. Would you go to Heaven or Hell?

The Bible says that "all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone" (Revelation 21:8) and "Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people — none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). So, if you are guilty of any of the ten commandments, then you are in trouble when Judgment Day comes! Do you know what God did for guilty sinners so that we wouldn't have to go to Hell?

2,000 years ago, God became a human being, Jesus of Nazareth, who suffered and died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead on the third day, defeating death. The punishment that we deserve for breaking God's law, Jesus took in our place. He paid the fine that we could never pay so that God can legally set us free by forgiving our sins. He is just, by punishing evil through Jesus’ death on the cross, while being rich in mercy towards us.

What you have to do is repent, or turn from your sin, and trust alone in Jesus. Don't trust your own goodness, because, as Jesus said, “No one is good — except God alone” (Mark 10:18). Trust alone in the savior. The moment you do that, God will forgive every sin you have ever committed and grant you eternal life, and He will give you a new heart with new desires, so that you will love to do what is right. You must repent and trust in Jesus.

When are you going to do that?

Here is a conversation between a Christian and an atheist on this subject: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRZlYg08Za4

The legal advisers helping migrants pretend to be gay to stay in the UK | BBC Newscast

Published

on

Today, an undercover BBC investigation has found evidence of law firms and legal advisors helping migrants pretend to be gay to get asylum.

Migrants were advised to take staged photos at nightclubs, attend LGBT events and to go to GPs pretending to be depressed to obtain medical evidence to support their cases.

Adam and Chris are joined by BBC politics investigation correspondent Billy Kenber, who uncovered the story. In response to our findings, the Home Office said: “Anyone found trying to exploit the system will face the full force of the law, including removal from the UK.”

Plus, Adam also checks in with Faisal, who’s in the US at the IMF’s annual conference. He fills us in on the indirect war of words between Rachel Reeves and her US counterpart, Scott Bessent.

I watched Hungary’s 16-year Viktor Orbán era crumble | BBC News

Published

on

Hungary has seen a historic election result. After 16 years in power, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has been ousted from the role.

Péter Magyar’s Tisza party won a comfortable “super majority” with two-thirds of the seats in parliament, meaning the party will be able to change the constitution.

The defeat will mean a huge reset of Hungary’s relationships with the rest of the world.

Orbán has been a close partner of both US President Donald Trump and Russia’s Vladimir Putin, and he had become a big thorn in the side of the EU and Ukraine.

The BBC’s Europe Editor Katya Adler was in Budapest as the election unfolded, and takes you with her in this video as a historic defeat takes place.

Americans react to President Donald Trump’s feud with Pope Leo XIV | BBC News

Published

on

Americans are reacting to President Donald Trump’s escalating feud with Pope Leo XIV and the backlash surrounding an AI-generated image depicting the president as a Jesus-like figure, which has since been deleted.

On Monday, Trump posted a lengthy Truth Social message attacking the pontiff, who has been a vocal critic of the US and Israeli military operations in Iran.

He criticised the Pope, calling him “weak on crime” and “terrible for foreign policy”.

The Pope said on Monday that he has “no fear” of the Trump administration or “speaking out loudly of the message of the Gospel, which is what I believe I am here to do”.
