Pig organs partially revived hour after death – BBC News

Published

on

Pig organs have been partially revived an hour after the animals were killed, in a “truly remarkable” breakthrough with the potential to transform medicine, say US researchers.

The technique could increase the number of organs available for transplant and buy doctors more time to save a life if applied to people.

The study also challenges assumptions about what happens in the moments between life and death.

knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: but the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

    God Bless the BBC 🙏
I have to admit. A song by Pink Floyd helped me understand what Black Pudding is made out of. I also saw a video about it roughly a month ago.
I've never been to the U.K. but my dream is to see it, someday.
However, I was quite disturbed by the Roger Waters concert I attended last Saturday night in Detroit.
I wish he knew about my personal good memories of my father getting excited when Ronald Reagan visited my high school.
Things people don't try to give a flying rat's yank about, apparantly. Sad. 😪
    Regardless, have a blessed evening.

    Dear President Joe BIDEN
    ,🎪🎪🎪🏘️🏡
Though we are Protestant CHRISTIANS,my dad loved to keep a mother Mary photo in our walls,
Even some nuns of a Catholic Church helped me grow in my mother's womb by giving some vitamin tablers to my Mother because I was a oborted child .
My father himself was a doctor.
He helped thousands live survive affected by Malaria fever .1972,1974,,
BECAUSE she is beloved mother of our Jesus,
    We are mean to God
Our God wants us to be a witness to Him.
So it is important not health or wealth .
Though Crow is an ordinary bird it doesn't neglect it's children.
Once a higher officer said to my dad that he had changed my dad's office regards mentioned my dad's religion as CHRISTIAN.
My father was not angry.but he said thank you sir for your my witness to JESUS.( BECAUSE here we lose all benefits from government if you become a christian 😁😁😉)
    Hallelujah
    It loves it's Chicks.
How much more we are precious or mean or special or important to God.
We must profess His name in all places .
Once our mother ( by force )( too much of love for her brotherhood blinded her eyes ) took us to a Hindu temple from where my maternal Uncle her younger brother and one and the only brother was performed some rituals to a Hindu temple pilgrimage.
    ( We didn't worship the idols )
But God punished my dad by breaking His leg in a natural way .
    AFTER we confessed it .
    Even YOGA might anger God.
But YOGA is mentioned in the Bible.
It was invented by Isaak and Abirraham.
But today's YOGA if we have to utter the names of idolatory then it will anger God .King David says that he will not utter the name of any gods but only the God of israel.
    1 JOHN 5:-21
English:- Dear Children, Keep Yourselves From Idols.
We must keep ourselves from idols.
BECAUSE we are mean to God.
God wants us to be a witness to him .
Tell His name and His PRAISE.
Why do we always PRAISE His name always ?
BECAUSE we will be Praising His name even in heaven.
He is Worthy to Praise .
He gives us life and protect us reach heaven affected.
So we must give all our life to a christian.
BECAUSE we will all MEET jesus christ and all our beloved ones of God .
So we must have courage to met see His face ,,,
It is possible I my if we live and give life for a church CHRISTIANS…🙏🙏👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Fascinating study. But why not switch to an assumed agreement for donation and then people must opt out if they don't wish to be a donor? That would resolve most issues would it not?

The only concern might be that could the organs only be revived because of the way the pigs were killed? What if pigs died by other means? Would the damage to the organs be different and hence unable to be revived?

I once read a science fiction novel in which people came back to life only under very specific conditions. The author recently passed away. This report reminds me of that.

Let's pause a moment – the world has enough humans running around on it, its the pigs and other animals that need our help – their space – their environment and landscape is shrinking – more work on alternatives to eating meat please

Cyber Attack: Ransomware causing chaos globally – BBC News

Published

on

Tens of thousands of organisations have been caught out by a computer virus called WannaCry. The malicious software locks data away and demands a payment of up to $300 (£230) a time before it will restore scrambled files. In the UK, many hospitals fell victim and some health organisations diverted ambulances and cancelled non-essential services as they sought to contain and clean up the infection. Infections in more than 99 nations are being reported by security firms. It appears that the hardest hit are Russia and Spain.

Is this AI’s moment of truth? | BBC News

Published

on

A year ago, artificial intelligence was being sold as something close to science fiction — a technology that could transform society, cure disease, even reshape the global economy.

Today, the tone is changing. The companies leading the revolution are racing to the stock market — chasing billions in investment — while quietly confronting a much harder reality: AI is expensive, unpredictable, and far from profitable.

At the same time, some of the very people building this technology are warning we may be going too fast — even calling for a global pause.
And beyond Silicon Valley, a different story is emerging: growing public anxiety, political backlash, and the rise of what some are calling anti-AI populism.

So is AI entering its most pivotal moment yet — caught between financial pressure, technological risk, and political resistance?

AI Decoded Presenter Christian Fraser is joined by Financial Times AI Editor Madhumita Murgia, Thematic Strategist at Deutsche Bank Research Adrian Cox and Richard Coffin, Host of popular investing podcast ‘ The Plain Bagel’.
