It seems pretty much a certainty that Andy Burnham will be the next British prime minister. Exactly when it happens depends on a few factors. We outline some of the reasons an early general election is likely.

Millions more voted remain that actually signed the petition
@Noseypoke-mr7th
January 2, 2024 at 9:21 am
I wouldn't be surprised that the 5,966,164 people that signed this petition were actually the total REMAIN votes in the EU REFERENDUM in 2016. Fiddled by the REMAIN CAMERON GOVERNMENT of the time,So the LEAVE VOTE WAS ACTUALLY 23.396,164…….But that REMAIN VOTE WOULD LOOK TOO LOW FOR CAMERON, so get the CIVIL SERVANTS TO MAKE IT LOOK A BIT CLOSER.

Every country in the European Union should hold a petition to revoke article 13. I know it was only an initiative and that it wasn't a referendum, but we have a voice and we can do something about it

Gee I wish there was an opportunity to say vote on whether or not to ratify article 50. Like when there was a vote by the population on yes or no to leave the EU or not. Especially since voting on whether or not to leave especially on grounds of racial terms and acting like the UK was being invaded by dirty foreigners since the entire election was based on nationalistic terms and language and voting to leave the EU. Because of such reasons obviously rational citizens would vote to stay especially since the ramifications for leaving would be so ugly and disastrous for the UK and have so many negative implications and hurt the people of the UK so much. I mean if only the people of the UK had some opportunity to stop this and vote against leaving the EU and prove that the people of the UK were level headed and intelligent.
OH WAIT! You DID! You had the ability to vote and you had the ability to stop all this. You VOTED to leave EU so you have nobody to blame but yourselves. You are just as bad as those across the pond on my side of the Atlantic who elected a reality TV moron as their President. Only your choice was even BIGGER and some of those who voted for it regretted it afterward even. YOU DID THIS!!!! Responsibility hurts sometimes, and you must take responsibility for your actions. You need to take back the control from Right wing nutbags and tuck your tale between your legs, admit you made a mistake and get over yourselves. You're not the empire of lore you're a tiny Island country that depends on the rest of Europe for your friggin food and you're not as important to them as they are to you.

Problem with Brexit knowone said we was leaving a custom union or people said is that the NHS would get more money and that we get new trade, new deals. I believe 2016 referendum is illegal now because there know plan and knowone can prove it work's. Democracy's is about proven our idea work's. This is why we have election every 4 year's . To keep doing something without a plan or will of everyone is a illegal democracy's not wrong the law's in referendum was wrong. The law on referendum need updating if there know plan why do something or tell everyone we have to do Brexit 🤔 it's illegal and the problem with the 2016 Referendum /voted is that knowone still has a plan and can prove Brexit work's by law a 2nd referendum with a plan has to happen or revoke Brexit 3 year's prove this .Democracy is not wrong and in a democracy people have to prove they idea's work's or a new idea has to take it's place or stagnation happen's .

Julian Lewis (guy at the end advocating WTO Brexit) is my MP, and quite frankly he doesn't have a clue of what his constituents want.
The guy doesn't even have an email address.
He is elected by the wealthy retirees of the New Forest who vote conservative regardless.
At least at EU parliament I am represented by someone I can speak to.

Northern Ireland, I live in a reasonably sized town. Next to a small tourist town. We have a University. But where I live, they only let out to Students. And when the summer comes, oh boy your land lords ringing you to tell you “You have to move *heavy breathing * I smell yankie golfers and farmer boys comin’” and expecting you to find new property within two weeks or one. And one place is being charged £1500 per week. With a £400 deposit. Sheesh..

It irritates me that one of the main reasons people want a second referendum/have changed their minds wasn't brought up – that is that the public was radically misinformed about the benefits of leaving, it was used as an election tagline. Now that light has been shed on the utter falsehoods that were spewed in 2016 it's not surprising that many millions want a second vote. A more informed vote.

You look at those older men and women who are wanting to ignore the petition and what it reveals about the populaces thoughts on Brexit, and you can clearly see that they're the type of people that will be affected least if the NHS crashes, the employment rate drops and the homelessness issue skyrockets.

Your comment section is a haven for EU nationals to bitterly complain about Britain and Brexit. It’s actually pitiful going through your comment section. How can yourself as a British YouTuber cheerfully talk about your audience? I think if your videos are loved by EU nationals who want us to crash and burn, and you yourself is a Brit, then you’ll probably want to rethink your politics and join your people in the righteous goal of EU destruction.
@kronksstronkstonks6360

The petition lass just drones on and on. If the politicians enjoy hearing their voices just as much its no surprise were still stuck in the mess that is Brexit.
@Singing604
January 2, 2024 at 9:21 am
All these hard Brexit ‘people’ don’t want a second referendum because they know they’d lose in a bigger majority. Which means, realistically, that the second referendum has a sound case. There’s a difference between voting with the knowledge your government are as useful as a toddler on a construction site in making a deal, and a ‘350m for the NHS’ wonderland where all those who spoke Brexits praises are gone. Honestly we should probably deal with the stubborn, out of touch old people running the government whilst we are at it. They are a danger to this country, as proven by their blatant disregard for politics over the past 3 years.

I find it strange how politic debates are held in the UK. The talking in the house of commons sounds more like a tavern brawl on football night, especially the speaker with his "ORDEEEEEERR", contrary to the normal debating in this grand commitee room, like civilized human beings. It appears rather silly to me that the common chamber people call the shots.
@RadekZielinski.
January 2, 2024 at 9:21 am
People of the public – children
MP's – arguing parents which can't decide if their children should stay or leave the house.
Years later should they help their children stay as they're clearly unprapared and could end up on the streets, or should they just throw them out because they just should? Or, could you have an adult conversation with them and ask them the final time of they themselves want to very likely end up on their street?

Wow she is very weak at debating. Firstly attacking the opponent directly. Secondly using “if you don’t agree you’re wrong” language. Thirdly being completely inflexible on her views in one sense but then backtracking when someone plays it against her. Poor debate

6 million people petitioning to remain is still way less that voted to leave… Im just sitting here laughing as its obvious to everyone whats happening and it is just being ignored. This is how democracy fails,not with starwars bullshit but with people overruling everyone else for what they think is better…

I am wondering if you would make a video about all the referendums happened in UK history, the results and if all of them were followed through and executed. Funny that a referendum which is not legally binding has more weight then a petition, makes no sense for me, both seems the same for me
