Israel-Gaza: How Hamas breached Israel’s ‘Iron Dome’ – BBC News

Published

on

The Palestinian militant group launched an unprecedented attack on Israel on 7 October, with its fighters entering communities near the Gaza Strip, killing hundreds of people, and taking dozens of hostages.

The death toll in Israel from the attacks has reached 1,200 – while more than 1,100 people have been killed by Israeli air strikes on Gaza.

Gaza’s only power station has shut down, after Israel cut off electricity supplies as well as goods including medicines, food, fuel and water.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military says hundreds of thousands of troops are near Gaza “ready to execute the mission we have been given”.

By Netanyahu dismissing Egypt's and CIA's forewarnings about the 7th November Hamas attack, Netanyahu consented to the killing and kidnapping of Israelis for personal reasons. So don't blame Hamas. Blame Netanyahu and company. J

Think you should focus on Hamas atrocities that caused this crisis rather than a failure of Israeli intelligence

You are effectively blaming someone who has been raped fie a lack of vigilance rather than putting the blame on the rapist

"Is Party Line Comrade!" That's the FLUF these talking heads are talking…
    Sad
    WHAT REALLY HAPPENED?
Somebody turned it off! Was it ENTRAPMENT? Was it TREASON? Both options have sub possibilities.
    ENTRAPMENT:
1st – Bibi entrapped Hamas? Probably not, as Hamas is part of the obstruction in the road to a two state solution, which Bibi opposes.
2cnd – The PROPONENTS of a Two State Solution went under the radar and entrapped Hamas. This would achieve their goal of a PEACEFUL, TWO STATE SOLUTION. This may have been done in conjunction with Hezbollah… Maybe…
THE ENTRAPMENT OPTION IS FAR FETCHED!
    TREASON:
1st – Elements in Israel sympathize with the Palestinians. ESPECIALLY WOMEN! Look at the left around the world sympathizing with the Palestinians. They TREASONOUSLY TURNED OFF THE DEFENSES
2cnd – Or MEN? Get 10 Jewish men into a room and you will have 10 opinions, and then they form a Minyan and pray to God… One of those "10 opinions" might be the basis of this TREASON. As a Christian I am familiar with Judas…
What ever it was SOMEONE TURNED OFF THE DEFENSE SYSTEM PROTECTING JEWS FROM HAMAS. Saying the defenses just "Failed" is not an option. And The IDF says it was not "Hacked" what ever that means…
    IMHO

This is plain and a brazen call for genocide and displacement by this so called FDD guest. He is openly calling for Palestinians to be forcibly removed from their last piece of land and sent to Algeria Turkey Qatar.etc. And the BBC host conveniently accomodates that open genocidal statement. The West has gone totally mad and woke. I cant believe this has gone through the BBC without even minimal editing. that is an affirmation. The fact of the matter is that Israel has butchered tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians including thousands of children and these pundits were supper happy and cheering for Israels endless crimes. The West has lost any sense of justice and no one on earth will put up anymore with its abuses. Palestinians will be free one day make no mistake and I wonder how high price in political moral and economic terms the west is prepared to pay to.protect and cover the heniouis crimes of an genecidal amd apparatheid regime, Israel. At the same time.I dont approve taking captive women and chidlren by Hamas and these civilians should be released without condition and Israel regime should do the same and free the Palestinian women and children in its captivity.

Remember when the BBC was an influential news organization? Prestigious? Mark Dubowitz, a man with an agenda, is not a scholarly,, impartial observer. His comments aren't authoritative, but opinionated. BBC: "Here's your microphone. Let's pretend you're credible."

Let everyone know that Israel bombs and destroys ambulances, destroys hospitals, destroys schools, and bombs innocent children and women among the general public. Why does the Israeli soldier not hit a soldier like him from Hamas? It is shameful to hit someone who has no standing and is safe in his home. This is a lack of morals and all countries should not conspire. On a very small sector, they deny everything, water, electricity, and all the necessities of life to the innocent public

PC Andrew Harper’s killers to stay in jail | BBC News Exclusive

Published

on

Prime Minister Andy Burnham has told the BBC that PC Andrew Harper’s killers will remain behind bars as he announces changes to the early release scheme aimed at easing prison overcrowding.

In an exclusive interview with BBC Breakfast, Burnham said anyone convicted of manslaughter will be excluded from changes brought in under the Sentencing Act, which would have made the killers eligible for early release.

Burnham said extra prison spaces would be created by deporting “hundreds” of foreign prisoners and releasing some inmates serving indefinite sentences.

At least 27 dead and hundreds evacuated after strike on Kyiv warehouse | BBC News

Published

on

Twenty-seven people have been killed and almost 400 evacuated after a Russian strike hit a warehouse near Kyiv, triggering a fire and a series of explosions.

Regional governor Tymur Tkachenko said a further 42 people, including four children, were injured after the Russian drone strike in the Bucha district.

An investigation has been launched into whether ammunition was being stored at the site, where search and rescue operations were ongoing early on Saturday.

Russia’s Ministry of Defence said in a statement that its forces had targeted “an ammunition depot” in the Kyiv region village of Myla, which stores “components and launch boosters for FP-1/FP-2 long-range unmanned aerial vehicles”.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of the strike, saying that more than 300 emergency respondents had been deployed to the strike area.
