Australia’s System Explained: https://youtu.be/j_lssz4V3Ns

Last week the UK government finally explained how immigration will work post brexit, laying out their new points-based immigration system. We explain how the new system works, how points are earned and who will gain entry to the UK. We also explain some of the controversy surrounding the system and why many aren’t on board.

It was so easy for the British people back then to take control of land with force now they want to take this immigration issue serious, this system basically say what we did back then was okay 👍 but what you doing now is wrong

    The English requirement shouldn't
    Be a requirement
    What if they speak gaelic
    Russian
    Italian?
Along as they have a rudimentary understanding ,
    Of English
but have needed skills from their home country
Like for example, a Engineering Degree
    Culinary
    Welding
    Nurse
    Why does it matter?
Along as it's in the shortage occupation list
    Let's be real !
Who can fluently learn the Countries language in a very short amount of time?
    Someone is working full time
Doesn't have every week to learn another
    Language
If they have a skill but can't fluently speak English who cares?
As a matter of fact I'm for ditching the multiple language option when you call certain places lol
Someone has a friend or relative that speaks English
    that should be sufficient enough
No need for, English as a second Language !
Do they have this in other countries?
Where if you speak English they'll cater to you? As in helping you learn their language through government sponsored programmes? No not that I know of
Why don't they get on the ball?

While setting an income requirement slightly higher than the 1st income quintile (4:10) may be unfair to foreign students, it is an intermediary with natural-born citizens that are in that quintile; the priority should be to protect the people already living there from undue competition for only the lowest income.

  13. @pjarma8536

If they aren’t educated enough to earn 25k a year then your a drain on jobs for the low skilled.

There is the Asylum system, most Muslims claiming to be Gay and cannot be sent back to their home country or people claiming to be pro Western like Falun Gong. The vast majority of immigrants do not have any skills, if they did, they probably would not want to immigrant to the UK.

Funny how Ugly Patel wants to get all educated people from somewhere instead invest into education of British people. Why she believe any educated Europian will be interested to work for such ridiculously low salary in country with bad weather and not intulectualy challenging nation???🤣🤣🤣 When you can get better salary for the same job role in EU.

The job market for psychotherapists in the UK is ridiculous. Many counselors are expected to work for free to build up a resume, in hopes of finding a paid job later down the road. This is a master’s level profession for god’s sake. As a foreigner wanting to move to the UK, this is terribly disheartening.

  23. @michaelm4550

    January 1, 2024 at 1:00 pm

The wage threshold should INCREASE if anything due to the high requirements. If your median salary is only 10% more than the minimum to be let in, then you shouldn't be inviting "best and brightest". UK doesn't need more immigrants, like every other developed country, they need more balanced wages

  24. @eurovision50

The fact that they ask for a PhD specifically with no merit to a Bachelor's or Masters is weird. In Australia they do take those into account, same with Canada and I believe that in the US they're not really buying you much in terms of job offers unless you're going for academia so… Yeah, I believe the system might work but this current form is not great at all.

Another nail in the coffin of the U.K. fishing industry.
The UK fishing industry relies on workers from abroad, very few U.K citizens want to work in this industry, Asians, Africans etc man the trawlers while East Europeans work in the processing plants.
The fishing industry has been told there will be no exemptions for this industry from the new rules.
Welcome to Brexit and also the lunatic asylum, with apologies to all lunatics who are now tarred with the same brush as Blobby Johnson and the
    Not so Pretty Patel
