Great stuff! Yeah meditating in this busy crowded world today can be challenging but it is possible. Meditating in the evening or using robust noise canceling headphones are very effective in my opinion.

Yup. Truth. Mindfulness practices can actually rewire the literal brain structure – isn't that mindbogglingly fascinating! Something so simple leads to such potentially profound shifts in our lives improving all aspects of life significantly! In the work I do, that's the focus – every day, small amounts trump larger inconsistent sits.

It's funny how these techniques have been around for thousands of years. And that the world that we live in today is apparently the most evolved level of reality we've seen as a civilization, but yet 99% of humanity is emotionally disabled and subsequently everything follows suit. Ok, people now can see through the lines, but they don't realise, they signed up for this, this very reality in which we live , you guys all voted for this. So please , now, you're being told you can live in such a way, atleast do it now. Truth is, humanity is so tired from the suffering there's not enough energy to rebuild/rewire as a collective … atleast be honest to the future generations, oh, and please, if such necessary actions are a necessity just for most humans to sit still for 2 minutes, please understand that the world that's been created , also is as wrong, and chemically imbalanced.
    Good luck humans

This entire comment section is a giant esoteric sellout. lmfao
Plasticity exists, yeah but you ain´t "rewiring" anything by sitting down wasting time listening to your breath.

That´s not even how it works in the brain.

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:

    00:04 🧠 Introduction to Neuroplasticity
    – Neuroplasticity is the brain's ability to change its structure and function based on stimuli.
    – The brain's architecture can change throughout life, not limited to youth.
    – Plasticity is a dynamic process crucial for learning, memory, and brain repair.
01:38 🧘 Mindfulness and Neuroplastic Rewiring
    – Mindfulness, particularly through practices like meditation, can induce neuroplastic rewiring.
    – Mindfulness reduces stress, allowing for more plasticity to take place.
    – The brain scan before and after meditation reveals changes in stress-related areas.
    03:20 🤔 Understanding Brain Plasticity
    – Brain plasticity involves both structural and functional changes.
    – Neurons strengthen connections through firing together, influencing plasticity.
    – Neuroplasticity is a continuous process, influencing brain repair and adaptability.
04:43 ⚙️ Boosting Plasticity for Health
    – Boosting neuroplasticity may contribute to delaying degenerative diseases like dementia.
    – Plasticity plays a role in rewiring the brain after psychological trauma.
    – Various ways to enhance plasticity in patients with neurological disorders.
06:11 🌬️ Hack 1: Mindfulness for Stress Management
    – Mindfulness buffers stress and increases awareness of challenges.
    – Mindfulness meditation strengthens attention and flexibility in thinking.
    – Stress is a direct inhibitor of neuroplasticity, making stress management crucial.
08:17 🧠 Physical Changes through Mindfulness
    – Mindfulness training, even for a short period, can lead to visible changes in the brain.
    – Reduced amygdala volume indicates a stress reduction effect.
    – Increased size of the posterior singular cortex suggests better control over mind wandering.
    11:29 🚀 Future Topics
    – Future episodes will explore additional ways to harness and boost neuroplasticity.
    – Recognizing the challenges of integrating mindfulness into busy daily lives.
    – Continued practice is recommended for sustained and significant neuroplastic effects.

It's crazy that we need to learn this, it should be natural.
The atomised hyper-competitive environment we constructed around us has a lot to answer for.
As much as I love technology, it has also damaged my life experience and health.
We have also allowed the least amongst us to take the lead.
Their intelligence is not tempered by openness and compassion – so we have bloody war / greed & chaos.
They seek growth at any cost.

How simple changes alter the mind.

    Melissa Hogenboom, a journalist's grace,

Delves into brains, in a scientific embrace.

A journey embarked, a quest to unfold,

How to keep our minds vibrant and bold.

Six weeks in the making, a rewiring feat,

the best tool for increase brain's plasticity is to develop a healthy amount of schadenfreude. nothing is more mind refreshing and life changing than seeing self-indulgent a-holes falling on their faces and crying "why?". it''s actually very enlightening seeing how "mindful" people are slowly losing contact with reality and then got beaten by it.

Fires rage in France and Spain as heatwave returns | BBC News

Published

on

France and Spain continue to battle wildfires, as temperatures are expected to soar past 40C in some regions in the coming days.

Spain’s national weather service says the severe weather is forecast to last until “at least” Sunday, and warns of “extreme” fire risks as firefighters continue to battle the some of the worst blazes in the country’s history.

France’s south-west regions Gironde and Landes are under “yellow alert” for a heatwave expected to peak on Wednesday, further hampering efforts to contain “very unpredictable” blazes in Gironde.

The mayor of Bordeaux has said he is preparing for “all eventualities”, as one of the wildfires burning in France is 15km (nine miles) from the south-western city.

Ukraine accused of “terror attack” on Russian beach resort as 7 killed and 40 injured | BBC News

Published

on

A drone has hit a busy beach in southern Russia, exploding in a fireball on impact. The local governor said seven people including three children were killed and 40 injured.

He accused Ukraine of “a deliberate strike on civilians, while Russia’s foreign ministry called it an act of terrorism. Ukraine has not commented. Both Ukraine and Russia deny targeting civilians deliberately.

In social media footage verified by the BBC, a drone can be seen hurtling towards a cliffside before exploding on the beach below as tourists look on from the shore and in the water.

It is unclear what the drone was targeting. Some Ukrainian Telegram channels have claimed it crashed onto the beach as a result of electronic warfare which jammed the drone’s signal. Several eyewitnesses were quoted by Russian media as saying gunfire preceded the explosion, indicating that the drone may have been shot down.

The crash occurred on a beach near the village of Arkhipo-Osipovka on the Black Sea. With its warm climate, long beaches and developed tourist infrastructure it is a popular holiday destination for Russians, in particular since sanctions have curtailed international travel for many.

In the last year Ukraine has had increasing success in carrying out long-range strikes deep into Russia, hitting energy infrastructure and commercial warehouses it says are used for military purposes. These strikes have caused civilian deaths, with eight people in different Russian cities killed at the weekend.

Russia has repeatedly launched attacks on residential areas and cities from the start of its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, killing and injuring many civilians.

Recent Ukrainian strikes have targeted warehouses belonging to Wildberries – a large online retailer known as the “Russian Amazon”. Kyiv says Wildberries depots are used to supply the Russian military, which Moscow denies.
