The public supported the sanctions. This is shooting their own foot. So who is to blame.?

The rich will be OK, so the media don't care, as long as love Island on ice is on the telly all's well.

Please don’t use ‘lived experience’ all I can think of is an unimportant stuck up self centred lil liar of a woman when someone says that 😂

  12. @TermiteVideo

    December 31, 2023 at 6:52 am

Yes, the measurement of inflation is not the cost of living rise. We don’t all buy new cars, aeroplanes, TV sets etc on a regular basis. We heat our homes, drive our cars and eat food. If you just looked at those three items every day inflation would be eye watering.

It’s such a shame people are blaming the giver for all this. Low IQ perceptions.

  15. @apemoon1731

    December 31, 2023 at 6:52 am

It already is in some countries.

Governments need to start dealing with the root of the problem; the energy companies.

  16. @petermclelland278

    December 31, 2023 at 6:52 am

It's all Labour & Jeremy Corbin's fault. Has everybody forgotten ?

  17. @Dan-dg4sf

    December 31, 2023 at 6:52 am

They will have you believe it is all down to Russia/Ukraine.

Nothing to do with the rampant money printing since March 2020 for lockdowns and furlough. All those people loudly shouting for more lockdowns didn't think there would be any consequences. It is playing out now.

There will be dips but ultimately high inflation is here to stay.

Inflation robs the prudent of savings, it makes the poor poorer and this government have fuelled it with their absolutely incompetent handling of Covid and Brexit

  23. @diesel92kj1

    December 31, 2023 at 6:52 am

This was all inevitable the second we implemented lockdowns, shut down an economy, ports, paid furlough & all the other nonsense, it’s literally basic economics.

This is why as a young person not at risk I will never forget this authoritarian reaction, best thing anyone can do is try get out the UK.

Higher inflation means debt is worth less and taxes are increased

  25. @Chango98

    December 31, 2023 at 6:52 am

Any relief for the working people of the UK? oh, a pathetic 5p cut in fuel duty tax and a 300 pound a year rise in NI, which the government will inevitably spaff up the wall.

  26. @richardsandals785

    December 31, 2023 at 6:52 am

Thanks for covering this, GB News. Like Liam, I remember the disaster of inflation in the 70s. Main stream media is barely mentioning this, apart from a couple of business journos. People, especially younger people, need to know what this means and how they need to prepare as best they can before the onslaught really hits us.
