This needs updating in the light of the unholy mess associated with the rights or otherwise of violent raypeests to be accommodated in women's prisons in Scotland.

It makes no fucking sense that Scotland cant vote for its independence, I dont care about legality or shit, if a group cant vote, youre not being democratic, and its not an
"Union" if one country rules over the others

High, prince of Wales here. Im all for leaving people the fuck alone, so a binding resolution on Scottish autonomy has my full support (as do any and all resolutions on Irish unification, regardless if that involves separating from the crown, but I'll get to that).

I think I've made a good sales pitch. I don't like telling anyone what to do, and I think a federation of independent states is a great thing. But, case in point, look at what happened to Ireland after brexit. Now people have to go through customs just for visiting their cousin down the street. Like, EU membership completely negated the ireland problem, because there were no boarders.

Fuck parliament, fuck the lords, yeah whatever Scottish people just do Scottish things and keep to yourselves, idgaf (Ireland makes better whiskey. Your stuff tastes like I'm giving an oak tree a blowjob), BUT it is in everyone's best interest to remain unified under a single flag.

People in California and Texas hare each other, but they don't have to show a passport to visit. Ireland didn't start becoming an issue again until after brexit….because then borders became a thing again.

You get what I'm saying? Fuck sunak, fuck parliament, FUCK the lords….but also fuck borders and passports.

If you support this, in honor of my mother, who is still alive and technically my twin sister, who may or may not be evil (really mixed signals on that one), I propose you hold a referendum on discarding the Union Jack and adopting the Welsh flag as the symbol of our new federation.

It is so interesting to see that there is voice of independence almost everywhere, was the same in Belgium.

When (not if, I hope) Labour win the next general election, they should put max devo on the table for Scotland as part of their manifesto, that's one way to keep the union together

  11. @arfermo853

    December 30, 2023 at 8:55 am

The problem is the majority voted to stay in,so what do you expect england to do? Just say ah stuff the majority ? Brexit was voted on by the united kingdom , you say yeah but we didnt know brexit was coming ,nor did the goverment and they didnt want it ,but the majority of the UK did

  12. @kevinbrown5737

    December 30, 2023 at 8:55 am

Let Scotland have a referendum firstly to decide if they want another referendum on leaving The UK. Then providing they do want another referendum ,
Then a referendum with the wording not biased as it was by Scottish Nationalistc party last time and the cost of the referendum is paid for by those who want a referendum should take place

  13. @hey12542

    December 30, 2023 at 8:55 am

Can anyone tell me the date independence is happening? I want to visit Scotland from England and not sure if I will need a visa and passport? Also will trains still run from England into Scotland and will the maximum time to stay be 90/180 days like other EU countries? Also does Scotland use the pound or another currency? Thanks

  14. @alexforrest2563

    December 30, 2023 at 8:55 am

We had a Referendum we the Scottish people voted. And we decided to stay part of the United Kingdom. It was a democratic vote we don't need another one

  15. @eleanorcrawford9978

    December 30, 2023 at 8:55 am

She needs a plan because she’s a cunning dishonest lying charlatan.

  16. @homeallsop9970

    December 30, 2023 at 8:55 am

I voted for the SNP to govern Scotland , but did NOT vote for independence. 2 different things altogether and I don't like the fact that the Independence movement have kidnapped the saltire flag

  17. @tt-ew7rx

    December 30, 2023 at 8:55 am

Independence for a part of a sovereign country, according to international law, must go through a process within the country's constitution on its sovereignty. So at the end of the say, if the UK parliament does not agree to a particular procedure then that procedure is illegal in the eyes of international law.

  18. @alanharper23

    December 30, 2023 at 8:55 am

Here after the Supreme Court's negative ruling, and it's funny now to watch 8:48 and hear how this could put Johnson's job at risk.

  19. @arlosmith2784

    December 30, 2023 at 8:55 am

If I were Strugeon, I'd simply hold an "advisory" (non-binding) referendum. Since it would really be just a public poll, legally it could done. My city (San Francisco, CA) has had such advisory votes.

  20. @liamburge463

    December 30, 2023 at 8:55 am

You've forgotten one fundamental flaw in terms of the election, it's not First Past The Post system, but instead proportional representation. It was designed so that NO party would have overall power in Scotland.

  21. @elijahfordsidioticvarietys8770

    December 30, 2023 at 8:55 am

I’m American, so I really don’t understand what’s going on, but if I lived in Scotland, my guess is that I’d want independence. The UK government seems pretty fucked up, and I wouldn’t want any part in that shit show. Again, I’d have to look at the details, but it seems like they’d be better as their own thing.

It seems pretty much a certainty that Andy Burnham will be the next British prime minister. Exactly when it happens depends on a few factors. We outline some of the reasons an early general election is likely.
